WOW! What a fair! 🍄🙌

It was a record-breaking weekend for our soup! Even after increasing our quantities from last year, we SOLD OUT Friday and Saturday by 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, we sold out by noon! With over 6000 servings -we think it’s safe to say Lolacher’s Catering has made our soup go viral!

To everyone who stopped by, enjoyed a cup and supported us—THANK YOU!

To Wayne, Diane and Anthony, this weekend couldn’t happen without you. From setup and serving to welcoming visitors, cleaning up and everything in between—thank you!

To Allan Graham, there aren’t enough words! From organizing setup to cooking those delicious sautéed mushrooms on-site Saturday, then helping with cleanup and teardown—you do so much, and we’re incredibly grateful.

To Brad, Nick, Dan and Betty-Anne, thank you for all your help Saturday and for keeping our booth running smoothly!

To Heather Matchett, your expertise and planning help bring this event together. With about three weeks of preparation, keeping Fernando, Mike and I organized, on time and in line is no small task! 😉 You know I can’t thank you enough.

To our incredible staff, thank you for everything behind the scenes—from trailer preparation, repairs, cleaning and organizing to harvesting and preparing the mushrooms. We couldn’t do this without our team!

And to the Metcalfe Fair Board, thank you for all you do to help make this such a successful weekend.

Carleton Mushroom Farms is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Weekend Office Clerk to join our team. This position is ideal for a secondary or post-secondary student looking for a flexible weekend job while attending school.

Responsibilities:
Greet customers and visitors
Process customer orders and data entry
Contact customers regarding orders and deliveries
Prepare loading sheets and invoices
Answer incoming phone calls
General office filing and administrative duties

Position Details:
Part-time weekend position
Saturday and/or Sunday shifts (alternating weekends)
Must be available to work statutory holidays
Office environment located at Carleton Mushroom Farms
Opportunity for additional hours in our packaging department for interested candidates

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and customer service skills
Must be available to work weekends

At Carleton Mushroom Farms, all of our mushroom compost is transported off-site daily. Unfortunately, we do not have the space available to offer retail compost sales directly from the farm.

For your gardening needs, we recommend reaching out to our trusted local suppliers who carry our compost:
