Its purpose is to serve current local ethnic German-Canadians and those with German heritage and backgrounds. Club Loreley promotes, preserves and protects the German language, cultural interests and traditions that (along with many other ethnicities) have long been a proud and productive part of Canada's collective history and multiculturalism (e.g 1, 2). It is a club where German speaking people
get together, (however, anyone is welcome to join or visit of course) and currently has around 440 members. The club also has many Active Groups, such as the Frauengruppe, Schutzengruppe, German language classes, Youth Dancers, two Choirs, Social Functions & Dances, etc. Our Main Hall, with a capacity of 220 persons and our Member's Lounge, with a capacity of 55 persons, are available to rent, with bar facilities and catering (with dinners at the club weekly on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m) available. The facilities are available for weddings, graduations, birthdays, funeral receptions, stags, Jack & Jills, baby showers or business/corporate functions or luncheons (more info). The club has a pleasant atmosphere, with air conditioning, plenty of parking and has barrier free access. The club is located at 389 Dean Avenue, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
