More roaster pals Coffee Right YOW Festival! 🫘

First up, our dear pals and sponsors 94 Celcius roasting out of Montréal!

94 Celcius was founded in 2017 by our friend Marc-Alexandre, a gastronomy and coffee enthusiast with a background in biochemistry (B.Sc.) and pharmacology (M.Sc.). Before dedicating himself to specialty coffee, he participated in university research on autophagy, cell signaling, and molecular physiology.

What began as a deep dice into flavors quickly became one of Quebec's most ambitious speciality coffee  projects: to build a roastery where science, roasting, and human relations work together to push the boundaries of coffee standards.

Today, 94 Celcius collaborates with some of the industry's most innovative producers, including Diego Samuel Bermúdez, Wilton Benitez, Pepe Jijon, and Sebastian Ramirez, recognized for their experimental approaches to coffee fermentation and processing.

94 Celcius actively participates in the evolution of the Quebec coffee scene, notably through Café Collectif where  Marc-Alexandre is on the Board and has been a great help to us here at Coffee Right YOW Festival!

We're so glad to host the 94 Celcius team and their funky coffees!

Ottawa-Gatineau greats over at Café Cloudforest Coffee!

Cloud Forest Coffee has cafés on both sides of the river to serve and sell their coffees which are all from the Intag, a beautiful valley in the Ecuadorian Andes.

The community they source all of their coffees from, has been struggling against mineral exploration for 20 years. They have created a vision of development that does not include mining.

Their vision includes a healthy environment, safe sources of water, and harmony in their communities. Instead of allowing mining companies to devastate their pristine environment, many are pursuing different methods of economic growth, like growing organic coffee.

Cloud Forest's coffee is purchased from a farmers’ co-operative called AACRI. The cooperative was started as an alterna

Aeropress Comp Coffee! Miguel Augusto Ortega does not miss!

We are so glad to have worked with our pals and festival sponsor at Intentionally sourced green coffee to source a coffee from an amazing producer who is no stranger to our menu, Augusto Ortega.

His beautiful Sidra will be used as the competition coffee for the Ottawa World AeroPress® Championship Regionals taking place at the Coffee Right YOW Festival festival Sept 12 at Est./Depuis 1924.

We really love this coffee. When we brew it, we get these overwhelming fresh apple juice notes to start and ripe tart berries to finish. It's delicate and vibrant and it's all thanks to the magical skills of Augusto. His coffees are always brilliant. And this one might be his best yet. It's the perfect coffee to end the summer and we can't wait to see what competitors do with it!

We will also have some for sale on our website soon, and at the Merch/Info tent at the festival. Limited quantities so don't miss out!

And if you wanted to compete for yourself and get a free bag of this coffee there's still time to sign up (link in bio).

Happy brewing competitors! Big thank you to Henrietta Lait Barista Eight Ounce Coffee Cafuné Intentionally sourced green coffee for sponsoring the Ottawa AeroPress Coffee Maker Regionals and Coffee Right YOW.

Meet some more roasters🔥

We're excited to introduce you to some more of the awesome roasters you can come try and meet at Coffee Right YOW Festival!

First up, you know them and probably already love them, our pals Zab Café from Montreal.

Good coffee, good people, no ego, all the fun.

That tag line does a good job of summing up what Zab and their awesome team are all about.

If you've tried their coffees, you know they are always unique and roasted to perfection. And they've been doing it right since 2013!

Their passion for great coffee and their commitment to quality remain at the heart of everything they do. They believe in using their growing platform to promote progress and equality.

They were named Roaster of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2019, as well as Established Coffee Roaster of the Year in 2020, 2022 and 2024 at the Th3rdwave Awards.

Through initiatives such as "Main dans la Main" and "Retour à l'origine", they engage with their community and support causes close to their heart.

We know specialty coffee fans in Ottawa are as excited as we are to see the Zab team in the nation's capital on Sept 12!

They are also part of the great team that puts on Café Collectif and have been really supportive of Coffee Right YOW.

Meet our pals House Coffee!

Coming all the way from London (Ontario, we haven't done intercontinental yet) is House Coffee!

They began their family run business in 2012 when Wilfredo and Catalina moved to Canada from Colombia. And for them, their entire supply chain is a family affair.

Wilfredo's sister, Yenny, still lives in Colombia and works directly with farmers to ensure acceptable and ethical practices, building a direct and genuine connection to the hardworking farmers who make each cup remarkable.

We are so thankful they are making the long trek from London to come share their love of coffee at Coffee Right YOW Festival!

The roaster that needs no introduction here in Ottawa and beyond, say hi to September Coffee Company!

Natasha and Kyle are the founders of September Coffee based here in Ottawa, but globally known.

Meet some of the roasters! 🔥

Coffee Right YOW Festival wouldn't be an epic coffee fest if not for its epic line up of roasters.

First up, one of our Bronze Cup Sponsors and our dear friends over at Café Pista, roasting out of beautiful Montreal.

Max started Café Pista in 2014 as a human powered mobile bike Cafe and has grown it into a globally recognized roastery; and café spaces that are among some of the brightest and most welcoming in Montreal.

Café Pista has become much more than just a coffee shop; it is a human-scale entrepreneurial project, born from dreams and visions, and supported by a team dedicated to offering the best coffee to their community.

And their coffees are as delicious as they are ethical, and they also often work with our friends and Park Stage Sponsors Intentionally sourced green coffee and the amazing line up of coffee producers they help support.

The team at Café Pista is also part of the Café Collectif coffee festival in Montreal and they have been great supporters of Coffee Right YOW and we couldn't love them anymore than we already do.

We'll share more about this awesome business in the lead up to the festival and can't wait for y'all to try all their offerings on Sept 12 at Est./Depuis 1924!

Meet our friends Non-Conformity Coffee!

Non-Conformity Coffee and what they're all about, is simply put, awesome.

They are a q***r owned, micro coffee roastery on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh , and səlilwətaɬ lands (“vancouver” BC).

For them, coffee is more than a drink! it’s an experience and a connection to the people and places that grow it. They aim to help build up their community and the important connections in it, through a cup of coffee!

At Non-Conformity, they celebrate coffee that defies expectations—highlighting unique flavours and characteristics that go beyond the ordinary.

As a q***r-owned micro roastery, they are committed to fostering a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcome. Intentionality and accessibility guide everything they do, from sourcing green beans to making specialty coffee more approachable for all.

We are so excited to host the NCC team and are so thankful they are

The humble AeroPress. The humble coffee competition.

Maybe you've pulled one out at the office or campsite. Maybe it's your daily driver. For many in the coffee world, it's just always there. Dependable. Repeatable. Delicious. The humble AeroPress Coffee Maker.

To be honest, we're not really into most coffee competitions. They are elitist, overly rule heavy, dependent on wildly expensive coffees, and not accessible. They are everything that runs counter to what the coffee community should be about. But that's where the World World AeroPress® Championship Championships are different. Anyone can compete. Anyone can win.

Competitors use the same affordable tools, an AeroPress and a hand grinder (our competition will allow certain electric options for improving accessibility).

They use the same coffee (in our case a beautiful yet accessible washed sidra from our pals at Intentionally sourced green coffee that will also be available for purchase to non competitors).

And judging is done in a way that doesn't lend favour to well known competitors.

All this to say, anyone can, and has won, this competition. You don't need to be a professional, you just need to brew a good cup of coffee in the allotted time which anyone can do.

This is why we jumped at the opportunity to work with Eight Ounce Coffee and AeroPress Coffee Maker to host the Ottawa Regionals for the World AeroPress Championship, to take place at the beautiful outdoor park stage in the historic Est./Depuis 1924 during Coffee Right YOW Festival on Sept 12.

Don't be intimidated by baristas and roasters taking part. We are writing this to remind you that the amazing cup of coffee you made with passion and an AP by a fire on a camping trip, is competition ready. See you Sept 12 (free to watch, or sign up to compete with the link in our bio).

Another day, another awesome sponsor supporting Coffee Right YOW! Hey Eight Ounce Coffee!

Any gear head or specialty coffee lover will already know about our pals at Eight Ounce Coffee!

From your favourite pour over set up to full on roaster set ups, Eight Ounce does it all. They're friends to both the home barista and the professional and we are SO lucky to get to work with them.

Eight Ounce has been so supportive of Coffee Right YOW Festival. They donated a very sweet prize pack for our fundraiser raffle ($5 tickets linked in bio) in the shape of a $800 Fellow prize haul that includes a Fellow Aiden and Fellow OPUS Gen 2 grinder. And we collaborated on some very sweet MiiR mugs (one of the mock ups pictured in slides) that you'll be able to purchase from our festival's merch tent.

We also teamed up with them to bring Ottawa the World AeroPress® Championship regionals (sign up link in bio) and they generously donated more prizes for that and for our industry night party on Sept 11.

They've gone above and beyond in supporting this inaugural Coffee Right YOW and we can't thank them enough. Show them some love and stay turned to learn more about what they're about and how they're supporting the festival.

Go behind the scenes with our designer !

All the artwork for was designed by artist Melly Wells. Check out how she illustrated the awesome designs for the festival. All made by hand, nothing made by AI.

The illustrations and designs Melly came up with are so important to the overall feel and aesthetic of the festival and we hope y'all love the designs as much as we do!

And you'll be able to take some of these amazing illustrations home with you at Coffee Right YOW as we have an awesome line up of merch we produced with our pals and sponsors at . We can't wait to share pics of the merch with you soon!

Thank you Melly for being such a great designer to work with and for caring so much about your designs and their impact.
