Cooking is where I find my escape.

Every day comes with its own quiet pain, but the kitchen is my sanctuary. The smoke, the heat, the rhythm of it all—it’s how I let my heart speak when words fail. In every dish, I pour the parts of myself I can’t always show.

Here’s what’s been on my grill and smoker lately:
- Smoked ham
- Smoked and grilled chicken
- Smoked garlic oil

Flavours become my therapy, each one a little act of healing.

Tried Eggstatic Scarborough and honestly such a good halal brunch spot in the GTA 🍳✨

We ordered the pistachio pancakes, the fasha with pita, and Turkish coffee — everything was super fresh, filling, and full of flavour. The pistachio pancakes were definitely a standout. 🤍

They also validate parking for up to 2 hours, which makes brunch there way easier. 🚗

This evening, I prepared a garlic oil. The recipe is as follows: peel as many garlic cloves as you have on hand. Fill two sticks of 2 to 3 inches with oil, ensuring the level is not more than or less than the length of the sticks. If you are cooking on low heat, it will take a longer time and you will get a sweeter flavour. If you are cooking on high heat, you will get a roasted garlic flavour. Quick smoked pork recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp each: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder

Instructions:
1. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
2. Rub onto meat or veggies before cooking.
3. Smoke for 6 hours at 350°F.

It turned out amazing, and I’ll be doing a taste test video with my review of the outcome coming soon!

Just checked out McDonald’s new refreshing drinks and here’s my honest review 👀

🥭 Mango Pineapple Refresher — a little too sweet for me, so I’d give it a 7.2/10.

🫐 Blackberry Refresher — slightly better in my opinion, I’d give it a 7.4/10.

They’re both pretty good overall, just not totally my thing. Definitely worth trying while they’re here for a limited time!
