Tree shearing activity and summer farm maintenance activities draw to a close this afternoon. Thanks to Gordie, Chris and Graydon for all their help. Hot , buggy, wet , challenging work. These guys came out and got it done every day .

It was an interesting weekend rain event. Our dock on the Mississippi decided the water might take it on a little trip , so a dock rescue was in order. The rain that fell this weekend was recorded at 3” onsite at the farm . A lot of rain and it certainly explains the swelling banks of the Mississippi River.

Lucky our fields are well drained and the trees will benefit from the extra moisture.

It is shearing season at the farm and we are in need of an additional person to help us out .Looking for a student 16+ ...

It is shearing season at the farm and we are in need of an additional person to help us out .
Looking for a student 16+ high school or College and University. Very physical , over head , outdoors work . If someone is interested please reach out , send us a message . Help is required starting Tuesday Aug 4 , for 3 weeks .

Previous farm experience is an asset
Hours of work 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

What a beautiful spring day at the farm . 13 degrees . Some pictures from this morning. What a blessing to live in the Ottawa Valley.

Today we are in a time crunch to address w**d control and to start getting our fertilizer in place. Planting new seedlings the second weekend in May .

While our farm is high and dry , we realize our neighbours on the Ottawa are currently battling high water. We hope to see it stop rising soon.

Given how the fields have dried I imagine we will see many folks putting their crops shortly
