Rocksteady® Mountain Coffee, 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee was established in 2012 – the year of Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence. Our coffee venture and our brand were born out of a sheer desire to provide a product warm in spirit, and wholeheartedly Jamaican. Sharing its warmth with the rest of the world, our 100% Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee is produced on farms owned by us, in an area that is known to have the best soil type and a unique combination of mist and sunshine. We are committed to creating a uniquely balanced coffee with a combination of low acidity, mild sweet-notes and a smooth caramel and chocolate finish. We not only focus on the farming process, we work very closely with select processors and roasters that adhere to the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica’s rigorous standards to ensure quality and consistency. We pride ourselves on being involved in the entire process – from planting right through to seeing it to your doorstep. The Coffee Industry Board’s Certification allows Rocksteady® Mountain Coffee to be distributed in over 30 Countries.

🌱 Carbon neutral isn’t the easy path. It’s the one we’ve chosen—and the journey has already begun.

The unique microclimate and rich volcanic soils of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains help create the distinctive character of our coffee. Protecting this environment is therefore essential to our future.

At Rocksteady, our coffee is washed using natural spring water sourced on the farm, shade-grown within a regenerative agricultural system, wet-processed and naturally sun-dried, and grown without pesticides. Our shade trees also help capture carbon while supporting the wider farm ecosystem.

There is more work to do. We will continue measuring our footprint, reducing emissions where we can and addressing those we cannot yet eliminate.

Okay, about that Caffè Nero cup… ☕️😉

My wife and I travel with our French press. Everywhere.

For one reason alone: we only ever drink Rocksteady Coffee.

But on the day the Canadian eagle 🦅 landed in London, I arrived with a full day ahead and JP Jenkins Moving Markets on the agenda. I was in a bit of a rush to get on with the day. So I did something unusual I ordered a decaf from the closest place I could find.

I never drink caffeinated third-party coffee. That privilege is reserved for Rocksteady. 🇯🇲

You see, Rocksteady Coffee was never meant to be rushed.

It’s meant to be brewed properly, sat with, and savoured - each cup a reminder that some things are worth taking your time over.

For us, Rocksteady Coffee is a gift of love and time, and it is also our way of sharing that gift.

A reflection on what inspired the first product in a series being developed by Brown’s Hall.

In earnest, it began with a marriage.

My grandparents, Daisy Elizabeth-Ann Simpson and Dudley Thompson, married in Brown’s Hall, Jamaica, where they made their home and raised their children.

Daisy farmed coffee on their land. Dudley farmed sugarcane.

Generations later, their story inspired a liqueur that brings together Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, sugarcane and rum - a reflection of the land, traditions and family from which it came.

It also addressed a gap in the category. As tastes shift away from overly sweet liqueurs, traditional coffee liqueurs often lead with sugar, followed by rum, with coffee in the background. We wanted to reverse that order: coffee first, spirit second, and sweetness to bring them together.

In truth, Brown’s Hall was already there. We simply brought the pieces back together.

A marriage of coffee and sugarcane. A tribute to Daisy and Dudley. And a story that began in Brown’s Hall, Jamaica. 🇯🇲
