Another new (-ish) flavour - coming to Makers, Morsels & Mocktails party on Feb 5!

Cabbage & Egg, the most delicate flavour in the world.

Fun fact: the first time I fed it to the Wife (to be precise, she was a wife-to-be then, and it was my mom, not me, who made the pies), she didn't give any feedback for 2 days. And when pressed, mumbled, 'I was hoping you wouldn't ask...'

I still married her though. Partly out of desire to keep reminding her of those poor pies.

Spent some time looking for a good Christmas shot to wish everyone happy holidays.

And then I thought, what the hell - let my Christmas card be my messy kitchen table, sauerkraut jars, a ton of sweets from yesterday's party at our friends', a slightly deranged looking cat and the Wife's arm at the back. This is what my Christmas looks like this year, deal with it 😱🫶

Ok, this is pure vanity, but WHOA - this tiny piece of the Universe has just hit 1K followers *WHAAATTTTT* 😳😳🥳

Thank you for poking your heads in and staying for the ride!! I promise there is some more cool stuff coming up! Just wanted to let y'all know the depth (and width) of my appreciation.

'Owl' in Russian is 'sova' (sa-vAh). So when our French teacher at school tried to introduce us, a crowd of 11-year-olds, to the basic exchange of 'Ça va? - Ça va!', we became a bit too excited about a dialogue consisting of 'Owl? - Owl!'... I don't think we moved any further during that particular class. Maybe not even a couple of next classes either.

Anyway... That was all to say that we have some 'çavas' for the upcoming markets:

Hey people, great news - the first batch of pies just landed in ! There's 3 savoury flavours, there's Chocolate Babka and there's also the new Christmas babka flavour (which I will talk about as soon as I remember to take a photo).

Go check out their space - one of the nicest cafes in town, a perfect place to exhale, unclench and unwind.

I think we can call the last event of the season a moderate success. I mean, we only sold out an hour early and there was just barely a ton of people, not two or three...

Wait, WHAT. Yesterday was INSANE. You people showed up like never before, and I am SO grateful and humbled by your support - can't even begin to tell you how much.

Thank you for doing your magic! You are a POWERHOUSE. Ottawa's community is so incredibly lucky to have you 🫶🫶❤️

And to all the volunteers, to Tina and Parkdale team - rocking it with their usual grace! - I will miss it all so much during the winter months.

But we're not going into hibernation, oh no. There's a lot of cool and fun stuff coming up, so stay tuned - and trust me when I say you'll love our Christmas babka!

This very Saturday, people! The first ever fall edition of , aka The Cutest Spookiest Veganest Fest of Ottawa. We're bringing all the good stuff, including Pumpkin Spice Babka and the new savoury flavour - Butternut Squash & Tempeh.
