Sandy is one of our senior dogs and the reason we cannot currently take in more frosted puppies. Any dog she does not currently reside with is getting it, no matter their size. The older she gets, the grumpier she gets. If she was a human, I could totally see her on a park bench, whacking younger people with her cane as they walk by unsuspectingly because they are not in pain 😩 Brushing is her absolute least favorite time of day. Brushes of doom are out to get her and she must defend herself. To my surprise, this brush from the dollar store was deemed acceptable 🤩 Now I wonder how it would work on manes and tails?

Bella is a 25 year old OTTB. She has trouble putting on weight (but at least she stopped loosing weight). We just added oil to her diet and are hopeful it will help.

Clover is supposed to be in a quarantine pen. He keeps jumping out every time Patrick leaves the barn. He doesn’t go see the other goats; he follows Patrick 🥰 Obviously we need to upgrade…

It took Peter Pan all of 30 seconds to figure out the teeter-totter 😍 He loves it so much we put it in his stall for the winter. Now it’s finally time for the summer barn and lush pastures but his seesaw will move with him! The other goats like it but he LOVES it!

We tried earlier in the day but Ez wasn’t up to it. She wanted to nap 🥹 But after a refreshing afternoon snooze, she was ready to play!!!

What a Good Horse!

Thunder knows what he likes. He isn’t even subtle about it! Sometimes horses “whisper” to us but Thunder has no “inside voice”. He says everything “loudly”.

We don’t brush to tack up but for connection. It is easy to have the horses participate in the decision making for small everyday tasks. Outside of an emergency, asking their opinions doesn’t have to be black or white, yes or no. It can be: “Now or later?” Cooperative care works for us❤️
