If you’re like us, certain things matter a lot; enough to make you make changes.
A few years back, we moved our little family to SE Sask because we weren’t willing to raise our kids in a big city and in an area that wasn’t sharing things that are important to us: independence, self-determination and a pretty conservative mindset. My wife grew up in this area and we knew it would be right for our kids.
When we got here, we decided to start a small cattle ranch and modern homestead so we could teach our kids, provide for ourselves and for others.
I imagine you have similar kinds of thoughts - you want to be healthy, feel free, not be so controlled and choose your own path. So when it comes to buying beef to feed your family, consider working with a local producer. There are lots, and it has a real impact on you and us when you choose to buy beef and pork and other produce from small operators.
For example, we only sell Scottish Highland beef. Why is that? The meat has less fat and more protein than commercial beef.
All our cattle are grass fed and grass finished and it takes us about 3 years to bring a steer to market. Why is that? Grass is what cattle were built for, they have no manufactured products in them, they’re healthy, the meat tastes great and it takes longer this way. But it’s the right way for the animal, and ultimately for the meat.
Good choices always pay off and we want to encourage you to choose locally produced products. And if we can help, message us and we’re happy to do our best to get you a 1/4 of beef that you won’t forget.
