I put together a little video of Dixie from her very first turnout until most recent, and it’s already so much fun to look back on.

We absolutely adore this filly. She’s sweet, confident, full of personality, and simply loves to canter. That naturally uphill canter and the way she already sits and pushes from behind make her such a joy to watch. I know she’s only a baby, but it’s hard not to get excited about the little glimpses she’s already showing us.

She’s absolutely gorgeous inside and out, and we truly think she’s a superstar in the making. ✨

Some foals just make everything easy… and Delana is definitely one of them!

✔️ First halter? Easy peasy.

✔️ Daily baths? Loves every minute.

✔️ Giving to pressure? “I’ve got this!”

✔️ Picking up her feet? No fuss at all.

She is unbelievably kind, friendly, and willing. Every day she reminds us why temperament matters just as much as talent.

We have a feeling this little filly is going places. ❤️

We’re in the middle of a heat wave here in Nova Scotia, and after all the recent rain, the bugs have been absolutely atrocious. Because of that, brand new baby Delana waited until the cooler evening hours for her first official turnout.

Both Delana and momma Quartana thoroughly enjoyed stretching their legs! I was especially pleased with Delana’s first impressions. She already shows a lovely, big walk with plenty of freedom through her body, along with a very well-balanced, uphill canter. She even offered several flying changes, demonstrated great adjustability in her canter, and already shows a natural ability to sit.

Those are all qualities I love to see on a foal’s very first turnout, and I’m hoping they’re a good omen for what the future holds.
