A big moment for Pangnirtung!

Inns North has officially opened the new 18-room expansion of Auyuittuq Lodge, more than doubling the community’s hotel capacity and creating new opportunities for tourism, employment, and growth.

This project is a reflection of what strong partnerships and community support can achieve. Thank you to the Pangnirtung Co-op Board of Directors, Members, and the community, along with partners including Corner Cast Inc., Canadian North Airlines, Arctic sealift (NSSI), Travel Nunavut, Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, FCNQ-Ilagiisaq, First Nations Bank of Canada, Atuqtuarvik Corporation, and Nunatsiaq News

Seal Season in the North is a time of deep respect, knowledge-sharing, and connection to the land and waters that sustain the communities.

For generations, sealing has supported the well-being of the Members, providing food, materials, and cultural continuity. Each part of the seal is used with care, reflecting values of balance, gratitude, and responsibility to the environment.

This season is also an opportunity to recognize the skill and teachings passed between Elders and youth, ensuring traditions remain strong for future generations.

The co-operative network continues to stand alongside the communities, supporting sustainable practices and honouring the relationship between people, animals, and the land.
