Someone's dream team. Will and Rip. 10 year old unregistered fjord geldings Rip is not purebred. We did not raise this team so don't know their bloodlines. They armed 14.2 hh broke to drive but not used for years so will need a refresher. Will is broke to ride but also not been rode recently so will need a refresher. He was also to the Willmore and has been packed. They will be sold together as a team I feel these boys want to work and will do well for someone who has a job for them. Experienced team home preferred. Knowledge of fjords an asset. We acquired some brood mares after we purchased them that were broke to ride and drive and so they have been sitting which is a shame nice team. Pm with questions and be expected to answer questions as we want them to go to the right home

We are thrilled to be bringing Landsdrop Nyx home to Lost Trail Ranch. We are so impressed with everything about him and so grateful to Hughey Fjord Farms and the Hughey family for everything! We'll enjoy our next foaling year with our last foals off Lyst and Thor and look forward to our next breeding season with Nyx. We are also extremely grateful to Danielle Lauzon who is going to retire Lyst at her home in Ontario. We are looking forward to seeing him produce some super nice foals for her in Eastern Canada.

Lost Trail Ranch. Pieces of the past- Charlie and Doris Bloxham were the original homesteaders on our farm. Their first small house was built along the wagon trail that went through our yard- we keep the trail mowed and walk it and go through the old yard daily doing chores The old yard site still boasts the gardening skills and love of planting they had . These lilacs were planted by them on that old yard site probably 90 years ago. They are like a vilosa lilac. So besutiful. To think that those trees were planted with love so many years ago and have standed through time. The fragrance is so strong we are enjoying them outside our kitchen window.

On one of our early trips to Yellowknife when Toryn was very little we helped to pull a net that had been set through the ice on Great Slave Lake. The dads of the little boys, as the fish were pulled up said - What do we say to the fishes? The little boys replied. Thank you to the fishes for the food you will give our families. Since then I have never let an animal go to slaughter where I have not looked it in the eye and said Thank You. Maybe that's part of why I feel the need to make use of all that this animal has to give. I know that this isn't possible for everyone but for me if I can do it, I want to and I love it. We asked for some fresh ground so we could make our own patties. As we were there to pick it up the day of cutting and wrapping we were able to bring home so many scraps that we packaged and froze for our barn cats. We salvaged the bones and will freeze to give to our dogs. I asked for the leaf fat and have been rendering it for cooking and I will make soap and tallow balm I feel I can honour this animal and say thanks to him for what he has given us

Well there sure has to be something said about going from a really long cold stretch. Really cold -To a perfect day for a cutter rally. Anyone participating in the Lloydminster cutter rally for cancer definitely benefitted from all the hard work the volunteers put into making this such a successful and fun event this year. So a bit of history. 2025 was the 21st anniversary of this cutter rally. Way back. 21 years ago when it all began and I heard you could take home a beautiful cutter just by participating, I phoned Sandy at work and said. You need to take a day off work. We need to win this cutter. He did. We entered with our beautiful, then young fjord mare Torrell and and old cutter that the shaft broke on the trail. Torrell was steadfast. She whowed and we duck taped up the shaft. To those who stopped to help we said. No we’re good. Our fjord is good. We are fine but we do need a new cutter. Guess what? Highest roll of the dice won the new cutter. And it was us!! So here we are still participating 21 years later. With our fjord horses and the cutter from the very first rally. We enjoyed the day this year accompanied by a good friend Gene Helmer who loves fjords as much as we do. The committee has added a campfire and weinner roast along the trail that has access by vehicle for people who have been instrumental in our horse community but no longer able to hit the trails on a sleigh. One of the special people we saw enjoying this was our good friend Terrance. It was fantastic seeing him out mingling with teamsters, riders and everyone involved at over 90 years of age. Kudos to the committee to figure this out and have access to this fun friendly part of the rally to everyone that it means so much to. A few photos from us. Some from Gene and I grabbed a few off the slide show

Lost Trail Ranch has two really nice yearling fillies ready for their new homes.
Lost Trails Gemma. Off Thor and Jazmin. Gemma is a big filly. As a yearling she is already just about 13 and a half hands high. She is big b***d and dark in color. Brown dun registration CFHA3657.

Lost Trails Liesel . Off Lyst and Nikki 11. Liesel is just over 12 and a half hands high. She is slighter in build than Gemma, and lighter in color. Brown dun registration CFHA 3658.

Personality wise I could not begin to tell you a difference. They are both super friendly and want to be with you. They have taken their baby step training here and really seem happy to do what we ask.

Looks wise is where you would have to make the decision on what works for you. Gemma is a big filly. These two would never match as a team. Liesel reminds me a lot of her sire Lyst so if you’ve been dreaming of a Lyst daughter she would not dissapoint. Her dam is a nice tall mare so I’m sure the only reason she looks small is beside Gemma.
On saying that Gemma also takes after her sire Thor in looks. Darker and heavier than Lyst.
Two super nice fillies available. Already over a year old!

Such an interesting photo. Even though the two foals are the focal point it’s interesting to see the herd dynamics. The other foal and their mothers are not in the photo. They are content grazing and letting these two play away from them. The 3 mares pictured are mares that do not have foals this year. They are content to hang out together. Lyst. The stallion stays back and contentedly monitors everything that happens.

Lyst❤️He's 21 this year. He was due for a pedicure and a mane trim. Such a gentleman. Tomorrow he will be out in the hills with his girls. We had two beautiful fillies off him in 2023 and 3 amazing stud colts this year! We're excited for our 2025 foals off him!
