🎣 What a Catch! One Incredible Newfoundland Cod! 🐟

Now that's a cod.

While out with Waterhorse Boat Tours in the waters off New Harbour, Trinity Bay, Laura Babineau landed an absolute giant—a cod measuring an incredible 1.2 metres (4 feet) long and weighing about 70 pounds.

The fish was so massive that, as Laura put it, she couldn't even lift it!

For generations, stories of giant Newfoundland cod have been passed around kitchen tables, wharves, and fishing stages. Every now and then, one comes along that reminds us those legendary fish are still out there beneath the waves.

Whether you've spent a lifetime on the water or are experiencing the food fishery for the first time, it's moments like these that make Newfoundland and Labrador's saltwater traditions so unforgettable.
