As we close this year, our hearts are full.
Growing food for our community was a dream we carried quietly for a long time — a daring one. Building a farm from the ground up, learning as we went, falling and getting back up again… this year stretched us in every way.

But you showed us something powerful:
this dream isn’t only ours.
It belongs to all of us.
Families supporting families.
Fresh, organic food grown locally, by hands you know.

Every time you said “yes” — to our microgreens, to a tray shared, to a kind message — you helped turn an idea into something real and alive.

As we move into the new year, we’ll continue growing vibrant food for your tables — and we’ll also begin opening the farm to new ways of gathering, connecting, and growing together. Workshops, circles, and shared moments rooted in community.

🌿 What We Grow at Allsbrook Community Farm

Right now, our focus is on nutrient-dense microgreens — small but mighty plants packed with flavor and vitality.

🩷 Radish
💚 Broccoli
🌻 Sunflowers
🌱 Pea Shoots
(and sometimes Arugula & Cilantro!)

These are the greens we harvest fresh every week — perfect for salads, sandwiches, smoothies, or as a garnish on any dish.

In our greenhouse, new crops are already growing:
🥬 Lettuce & salad mixes (ready in about 4 weeks!)
🌿 Spinach & herbs
🌸 Edible flowers

🍓everybody’s favourite: Strawberries - coming back in the Spring!

And this is just the beginning — we’re preparing the soil and systems to grow vine crops, root vegetables, and more seasonal produce as the farm expands.

We’re Tenshy and Dave, the team behind Allsbrook Community Farm — a small family-run farm in Vancouver Island.

We grow microgreens year-round, and with every season we’re adding more: leafy greens, herbs, edible flowers, vine crops, and root vegetables.

Our farm practices:

🌱 Organic, non-GMO seeds
🌾 No-till techniques that protect and nurture the soil

We're so excited to start planning for the new grow season 🌱. Seed catalogs are arriving, and we're dreaming of vibrant blooms and bountiful harvests. It's time to map out the garden layout and order supplies. I can't wait to get my hands dirty and nurture new life from tiny seeds. This year, we are focusing on companion planting and attracting pollinators 🐝.
