SMALL BUSINESS, BIG HEART โค
It's who we are, what we are all about here at the farm.
So when others take advantage of that, it really hurts.
Two nights ago, around 9 pm, we had $300-400 worth of farm product stolen from the farm stand. Thankfully, we have the make and model and the license plate of the truck (a black Dodge Ram, a little beat up, not brand new) but the name and phone number that were written down came to a dead end (the woman on the other end of the phone call claimed to not know anything about this). We have called the RCMP, who have opened a file and have started investigating and will keep in contact with us with any updates.
As you may remember, this has happened a time or two in the past where we have reported a theft to the RCMP. The goods are not recoverable but there are consequences to these actions that have been, and will be this time as well, satisfactory to us.
While this hasn't happened in a long time, it always feels like set back when it does. It gives us pause for how we could have better prevented this and what the future might look like for the farm stand. Not only does it hurt our business, it's a violation of our trust and good faith in the system we have set up for our loyal customers. These two people who were here knew exactly what they were doing - no one ever really just stumbles across our farm and decides to do what they did on a whim. This is why we post updates like this on Facebook, and why we report it. We are inviting you to our farm to support a small local business, not to take advantage of it.
We will continue to have the farm stand open for our ever-loyal customers and RV park guests. We appreciate everyone who supports us all year around, whether it's to purchase your weekly dozen or have stayed with us in the park. Thank you! ๐
