Exciting news for our South Okanagan communities!

We have teamed up with the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation, Canadian Tire and a TON of local businesses to help raise funds for local families!

We’re taking over the Canadian Tire parking lot to serve up hot, delicious breakfast on the go, and every single dollar stays right here in Penticton and Summerland to support healthcare and feed children in our community.

- 50% of proceeds will support food programs for Summerland youth
- 25% will support the Feedway Foundation’s Penticton Breakfast Club
- 25% will help purchase medical equipment for the Women and Children’s Centre at Penticton Regional Hospital

So grab breakfast on your way to work, bring the kids through before school or rally your workplace and order for the whole crew. Every breakfast helps local kids.

We still have room for animals at the Feedway Stables, graciously being taken care of by the Okanagan Farm Rescue volunteer team!

On top of daily chores, feeding will be done with donated hay and grain.

What we can take in:
▪️Horses
▪️Goats
▪️Chickens
▪️Donkeys
▪️Sheep’s
▪️Alpacas
▪️llamas
▪️Small cows
▪️Barn cats (but keep in mind we have coyotes close by)

We've got lots of halters, leads, buckets, some hay nets, salt, feed, saddle pads, bridles, reins, fly masks, blankets and random miscellaneous horse items.

We also have for small pets! Dog wet and dry food. Cat wet and dry food. Kennels, beds, leashes, bowls.

We also have clothes for people, masks and blankets!

The Feedway and The Feedway Foundation want to give a huge thank you to Okanagan Farm Rescue, ALERT and all of the other incredible volunteers and organizations who have been working around the clock to help rescue and care for pets and livestock from the evacuated areas!

We’ve had hundreds of animals come through the Feedway Stables. Volunteer crew Kaz, Rebecka, Warren, Kevin, Micala, Diane, and MANY many more have been working nonstop!

A huge thank you to everyone out there doing their part!!

🐐❤️ A DAY IN THE LIFE AT OKANAGAN FARM RESCUE! ❤️🐐
We are working hard every day to keep all of the animals evacuated from the fire happy, healthy, and safe. 🐐🐴🐔

Our days are filled with feeding, checking on animals, cleaning, and doing everything we can to make sure these animals feel safe and cared for during a very stressful time.

And yes… we’re also spending plenty of time trying to catch those silly goats! 😂🐐

If you see us sitting down for a moment, don’t worry — we haven’t stopped working! 😉 We’re probably just drinking some much-needed water and reaching out to our team in Summerland, who are out there feeding and checking on the animals that have not been evacuated.

There is so much happening behind the scenes, and we can always use an extra pair of hands! 💚

We have welcomed a number of animals to The Feedway Stables who have been evacuated due to the Bald Range wildfire in Summerland. Say hi to the goats from StewBerry Farm 🐐

While we wish it were under very different circumstances, we’re grateful to be able to provide them with a safe place to land while their families navigate such an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by this devastating wildfire...those who have been evacuated, those who have lost homes, property or animals, and the firefighters, volunteers and emergency crews working tirelessly to protect our communities.

If you’ve been impacted by the wildfire and need boarding for your animals or help with feed and supplies, please reach out to us. We are here and will help however we can.

THIS is what community looks like.

A huge shoutout to JCI Penticton and the incredible volunteers who continue to step up for our neighbours impacted by the Bald Ridge Wildfire and the evacuations in Summerland.

They’re still at the Community Centre this morning, cooking and serving breakfast for evacuees: pancakes, eggs, fruit and more!!

One thing still needed: coffee cups and pre-brewed coffee ☕️

So many people and local businesses have jumped in to help, donating food, supplies, time and whatever else is needed (Belich’s AG Foods in Okanagan Falls, Grizzly water, The Feedway, The Hub on Martin, Penticton Sikh Temple and MANY more)!

And to the JCI members and volunteers who are there doing the work cooking, organizing, serving and making sure people feel cared for during an incredibly difficult time...thank you all!
