Look who stopped by. ❤️🍷

We had the pleasure of welcoming a couple of familiar faces to Roche this weekend, local Kelowna artist Sarah Rombold, who created the artwork for our 2024 Artist Pinot Noir Willamette Valley label, and Ross Derrick of Derrick's Steakhouse

Wine has a wonderful way of bringing good people together, and we're always happy when those relationships make their way back to our winery.

Sarah, thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us. And Ross, thank you for continuing to make room for Roche on your wine list (and for serving up some of the best steak in Kelowna, if you ask us 😉).

Pénélope and Dylan are 'vignerons' in the truest sense of the word, trained in both viticulture and winemaking, with roots in Bordeaux and Burgundy and a belief that great wine begins in the vineyard.

Forget Emily in Paris... you've got to meet Penelope in Penticton!

Originally from Bordeaux, Penelope is a viticulturist, winemaker, storyteller and, alongside her husband Dylan, the owner of Roche Wines. Since opening the winery, she's had a hand in just about every part of it—from the vineyard and cellar to regularly pouring wines in the tasting room.

And if you've met Penelope, you know her love of wine is matched only by her love of sharing it. Family history, French traditions, vineyard stories, favourite recipes...she has a way of making wine feel less complicated and a lot more like an invitation to gather around the table.

So, Reason #1?
Come spend a little time with Penelope in Penticton. 🍷🍇

We don't make our wines to chase scores or accolades. But this is something we're very proud to share.

The results of the 2026 National Wine Awards of Canada are in, and seven Roche wines received recognition, including a Platinum medal for our 2023 Viognier Marsanne.

We were also honoured to be named  #8 winery in British Columbia and #17 winery in Canada.

Behind each of these wines are years of work in the vineyard and cellar, the dedication of our team, the growers and collaborators we work alongside, and the people who continue to open our wines and share them around their tables.

We're holding this recognition with a little extra perspective and a lot of gratitude.

Thank you for continuing to support Roche and BC wine. It means a lot to us. ❤️

A small update from Roche.

While the wildfire situation remains close to home, we're doing our best to carry on and continue welcoming guests as safely and comfortably as possible.

At this time, Roche remains open daily from 11 AM–5 PM, with all tastings currently taking place indoors in the tasting room or our cellar, as air quality conditions seem to be shifting throughout the day.

If you're planning to visit the Naramata Bench, please travel mindfully and check current wildfire updates and road conditions before you leave, as conditions can change quickly.

Summerland Strong. ❤️

Our hearts are with our neighbours in Summerland, the evacuees, families and businesses facing an incredibly uncertain time right now.

We're thinking especially of our fellow winemakers, grape growers and winery owners whose homes, vineyards, livelihoods and upcoming harvest may be impacted. We know how much work, heart and hope goes into every vintage, and we stand with you.

If you have friends, colleagues or favourite businesses in Summerland, check in on them. And although you can't visit right now, you can still show your support from afar. Look for your favourite Summerland wines and locally made products at retailers near you and continue supporting these businesses through the uncertainty ahead.

To the firefighters, first responders, volunteers and everyone working to protect the community, thank you!
