This has been a tough few days for everyone in the South Okanagan. Sitting down with a glass of wine Friday night and seeing the fire grow so quickly was unsettling. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been evacuated from the fire area, and for those who have lost their homes – lives forever changed. We are grateful that we are across the lake and safe for now.
We will be reopening the pizzeria and tasting room on Wednesday August 12th from 12-6pm. However, things will be a little different. Due to ongoing air quality concerns, we have brought a couple of tables inside the tasting room.
It kind of reminds me of one of our most memorable meals ever at a small bistro in Paris called Les Papilles. A very intimate setting, with our table right beside the wine bottles on the shelf beside us which we could reach out and touch. The food and wine was incredible!
Our new setup doesn’t have the same amazing lake view, but it’s kind of cool in it’s own way. Very intimate – pretty much like you are coming to our house for a meal cooked by Joel! And you can reach out and touch the wine bottles – just like at Les Papilles!
For evacuees, we are offering 20% off pizzas and complimentary wine tastings and non-alcoholic drinks for designated drivers.
