Pretty uneventful. Exactly how we like it. 😄

But take it away for one day and suddenly there’s no morning shower. No coffee. No cooking. No dishes. No laundry. No flushing the toilet.

You start realizing pretty quickly just how much of everyday life depends on it.

That’s what is all about.

So today, take a second to appreciate something most of us rarely have to think twice about.

We’re pretty lucky to turn a handle and have water right there when we need it. For us, our children, our pets, even our plants.

Thanksgiving weekend is coming up fast, and for a lot of Kawartha Lakes cottage owners, that's the weekend the doors close until May.

The dock comes out. The furniture gets covered. The key gets hidden under the same rock it's been under for 15 years.

But the water system is the one thing people forget until spring — when they open back up and something's off. Pipes that sat all winter, a well that wasn't checked, a filter that's been quietly doing nothing since August.

Before you lock up this year, give it five minutes. Drain the lines, check the system, make sure everything's winterized properly.

Your May self will thank you. 🍂

We can't help with the patio furniture. But the water stuff? That's us. Salt levels, filter replacements, system maintenance — get it sorted before winter makes everything harder.
