Good morning Folks! Andrea here! π It's been a minute since I've been on here with a life-on-the-farm update. So here goes! Grab a coffe and settle in... it's long with a few shout outs! Lol!
It's starting to feel like autumn out there, which we love because it means cooler weather and a sure sign farm life SHOULD be slowing down soon but we still have so much more to do!!
Our meat chickens are nicely rounding out but there's still over a month left of moving them around the pasture, tending to their needs and being on the alert for predators (which hasn't been an issue so far this year...knock on wood!!).π¦π¦
The veggie gardens are starting to offer so many delicious choices, which dictates that canning and freezing are at the forefront! π₯΅π«π

Our layer hens continue to provide us with bountiful baskets of eggs for all of you. We feel very blessed to have your support so we can live our best life in the country! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!π€
Soybean harvest is a bit away but when that is done we can feel more relaxed and a lot of the pressure is off...thanks to our amazing and always helpful neighbours, Courtney Racher, Courtney A Racher, and Greg Racher !!! None of this is possible without you guys to help us out (and answer our random, silly questions! π) Forever grateful!
Here's a picture of our recently acquired addition to the layer hen family. Adorable balls of fluff! In about 5 months they will be giving us more delicious farm fresh eggs...and more blue eggs with you guys in mind, Lori Gatecliff and Doug Gatecliff ! π₯π
Last but not least, we have had a very full and beautiful summer...meeting up with friends and family members we rarely see (Steve Cooter Verberne , Sue Verberne, Shelley 'Verberne' Hamilton, Rob Hamilton. We were beyond excited to see you!!πββοΈβ€οΈ), spending time with our kids (& grandpuppy) and fitting in a few road trips here and there. Seize the day, as they say! (More like, SQUEEZE it into the day! Lol! ) πβ±οΈ
We hope every one of you, out there, has been having a memorable summer too! OH!!! That reminds me, please note (!), we will be closing the stand a bit early Friday, August 13, for yet another family event. We will open at 9 a.m. but close at 5:00 p.m, (instead of the regular 6 p.m. close). . Be sure to drop by to grab your eggs while they are available! We will be restocking the stand later this morning for all your farm egg needs!
It's been great catching up with you all. Happy rest of the summer! Until next time, see you at the stand! π
