Tomorrow would have been our third birthday. Instead, Colin and I have had to close Dune Hopper's doors forever. Last night was the last time we turned off the lights and locked up.

We know this will come as a shock to many, and for that we are truly sorry.

We just don't have the words to properly say how utterly grateful we are to have met so many excellent, generous, loving, and helpful people.

Thank you to everyone who helped us begin. To everyone who helped us continue. To those restaurants and bottle shops and even gas stations who were happy and proud to also sell our beer.

Thank you to our countless visitors from Quebec and other places outside of the County, to our PEC family, to our West Lake family, and to our Dune Hopper family: you all have so generously, lovingly, and fiercely supported and encouraged us in such meaningful ways.

Our staff, Mike, Kailey, and Shiloh, and two customers-turned-friends, Vanessa and Lisa, who got their SmartServe just in case we needed help, were invaluable to us as we worked to serve you best with the vibe that we wanted to come across. I cannot express what our staff did for us in serving our people. They each had their own following because of how warm, friendly, and funny they are. There's a reason we have a near-perfect score on Google!

Without everyone who truly loved Dune Hopper, we would never have become what we turned out to be: the most beautiful, kind, welcoming space where everyone was welcome and felt like they were home. This was the dream, and we succeeded in making it real. The friendships we have forged over many pints and conversations will forever live in our hearts.

Colin and I aren't leaving our people. Find me, , at The Outpost in Picton and at the Gillingham farm brewery, where I'll be doing my best to remember your order and not get distracted by your dogs. is still going to make beer somewhere, whether it's at home or another brewery, and has an opportunity to explore.

It will take some time for us to wrap up completely. But know that in our hearts and minds, all of you will not be far. ♥️♥️🍻

NEW BEER ON TAP!!

BEACON is named for the light in your eyes you get when you taste how full-flavoured this micro hazy IPA is and find out it's only 3.2%. It's named for the lightness you feel still after downing a pint that tastes like it should be heavier. It's named for its sunshiny colour and bright aromas and flavours of orange, lime, citrus pith, and mango. And it's also, as the label suggests, named after the nearby landmark of the Salmon Point Lighthouse.

Beacon: your new favourite session IPA. May it be a light for you when all other lights go out.
