Koopmans Maple Mountain Welcome and Enjoy our page, Maple Syrup for Chris started out as a hobby which has now become our family owned business. It is still standing today.

Come on out to Waupoos and buy our syrup right from our front door. Enjoy our products from our farm to your table! Chris has been making maple syrup since he was 10 years old. He started out with buckets on trees along the roadway and back along Keller's Crossroad. collecting with a fourwheeler and a barrel. Then when he was 14 years old he built his first sugar shack. In July of 2005 he built h

is second shack where it is currently located today at the base of an escarpment of maple trees. That is why we called ourselves Koopmans Maple Mountain.

Chris finished flushing all the lines today,all of the mainlines and the tanks washed 🧼. The kids cleaned the buckets and walked the mountain picking up damaged tubing along the different runs that had repairs over the season.

While cleaning the buckets we got some rain off and on so Ike decided to wear Chris’ helmet to at least keep his face dry. 😆

We had a great day hosting the Grade 5 class from BCS yesterday! They got to learn about collecting sap, the process of making it into syrup once it got to our shack, and finishing it to put in bottles.

We shared some details about Maple trees and we also shared how we take care of our maple bush throughout our seasons. They got to roast hot dogs, and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate.

Our Mountain was definitely the highlight. They climbed our Mountain and loved it. Some climbed it several times. ⛰️

They may have gone home with Maple Candy 🍁.😍😬

We had a beautiful sunny day and we had a blast with them. Thanks for coming Grade 5’s!

If you happen to see our Sugarmaker today give him a high five! 🖐🏻

He boiled sap to the wee hours this morning. He got back to the house around 4:30am. 🤯😬😴🥱

His dedication to our operation blows me away every year. I truly appreciate all that he does to make quality syrup to share with those who have supported us over the years and for our family.

We may be a smaller operation compared to those larger ones in our province, but our guy is mighty! !

Our season is well….taken off! Today’s temperatures give us the opportunity to clean out the sand that builds up in our wood fired evaporator. It’s a catch your breath day, catch up on your sleep kinda break.

Everything with any farming industry is geared by the weather. Nothing automatic about it. 😜

This Saturday you will find us at our Shack. Come and visit! The crossroad is muddy and so is the conditions around our shack. Dress for the conditions as the area around the shack and throughout the bush is muddy and melting snow.

If you require directions please send us a DM and we will pass that info along.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately we are not wheelchair accessible. The conditions in the bush are not suitable. We apologize for that as we are located in an area that is a bit of a remote location with a terrain that is not ideal.

We look forward to your visit. There is parking just outside the bush. 🍁😊
