Grabbing items from the freezer for meals over then next little while:

Venison steak to be used to cut into strips and use in a stir fry

Goose Breasts. Will make Terriyaki goose poppers. Pieces marinated and then wrapped in bacon along with cheese, and baked. The garlic used in this came from our garden.

Pork Ribs that I smoked and vacuum sealed. Last package so I will need to do another batch soon.

Eggs from our chickens for breakfast

Am planning to catch some trout from the pond today for a meal too.Will use fresh lemon verbena herb from a plant we have, as a garnish.

Having the abilty to live a partially self sufficient lifestyle, is rewarding.

Not quite sure the species off this evening pond visitor. Edit:.Was suggested by a member of the NS Bird Society that it is likely a Greater Yellowlegs Sandpiper. Thank you to those who offered their expertise.

Just need to fasten one side, build a gate, and put on corner braces, and then it will be onto the next project.

Dog Run and Fun Zone.

Contemplating tilling the ground up on outside of bottom of the fenced area, then transplanting raspberries there and possibly use to also grow peas, cucumbers, and tbd, using the fence to attach them to. We will see.

Fencing in part of a field for our three Labs.
Too many ticks around this year to keep having them venture into brush and the woods.

A 4-stroke, gas powered post pounder, makes light work in driving in t-posts for a fenced in area.
Rented it from United Rentals, picked up after 330pm on Friday, needs to be back by 9am on Monday. Just pay for a one day rental. 90$, taxes included. Well worth it

While on my morning walk to feed the trout and watch the tree swallows, I noticed one swallow that didn't look like the others. Was unable to get a clear photo of it, but it was definitely a barn swallow. :)

Sharing experiences with others, is good for the soul.

A successful morning for these two visitors.

Not only did they catch and release a bunch of trout, the swallows gave them a good show for the whole duration of their visit.
