High School students should not need someone else to tie their ties for their graduation/prom. So yesterday, I hit up Value Village and bought a bunch of ties to go along with a couple of mine. Scored a neat basketball as well as a NS Tartan tie there. Today, I will be teaching some of the grade 12 boys at Pictou Academy how to tie a tie (Double Windsor), as well as explain the side of the tassel on they grad hats before and after graduating (start on the right as you have not "left" the building yet), and also how to accept their diploma, shake hands, and rotate for photos.

Note, at Master's and PhD levels, the tassel starts and stays on the left, I believe.

A Least Flycatcher singing to the world on this windy afternoon.
Least Flycatchers are the smallest Empidonax flycatcher in the East.

Quite the variety of birds picked up by Merlin Bird app while I was in the Maple Sugar stand watching the flycatcher.

Also, a tree swallow passing a feather to its mate to help make the bed more comfortable. The mate has been sitting on eggs for the past couple of weeks.

Wish I had my camera and not just my handheld this morning. Not everyday that you see a duck land in a tree. A drake wood duck that spooked from the pond when I went to feed the fish.

The tree swallows are showing their appreciation of our work and dedication in making the lower field area Swallow Friendly. :)
