Had been a tough couple of weeks for our household. One of my best friends was struck by an inattentive driver, who pulled out of a parking lot and struck him as he was going by on his motorcycle. Multiple surgeries and other life saving devices were not enough to save him. He is going to be missed by many.

So thankful to have our property as I have been spending a lot of time in the areas that give me a sense of peacefulness.

Our hens must be happy as all 4 of them are laying an egg, each day. Our Silkie didn't lay hardly any for 1.5+ years, but started to lay one periodically during the summer. She is now laying a lot more frequently.

Earlier in the summer, I cut a sucker off of the bottom of our Catalpa tree, then dipped the end in rooting compound and placed it into vermiculite. It has roots now and some leaves. Planning on transplanting it today from a large Mason jar into a plant pot.
