Bud Set Has Begun!

After harvest, blueberry plants begin preparing for next season. Flower-bud development starts near the tip of each shoot and gradually progresses downward.

Over the next several weeks, the flower buds will become larger and rounder, while the smaller, pointed buds will develop into leaves and new shoots.

Good soil moisture, healthy leaves and proper nutrition during this period are important because the buds forming now will produce next year’s blueberry crop.

Adding kelp to the mix from Cascadia Seaweed is great and some more nutrients from TerraLink Horticulture Inc.

On a side note got my back surgery booked for September 9nth 🙏🏽

Wish I could get it done in canada but just to see a neurosurgeon is 6 months and then another 2 year wait for surgery 🙃

Its a hot day !!! Check this out !!

🫐 Blueberry Milkshake

Ingredients

1 cup frozen Royal Pacific blueberries

2 cups vanilla ice cream

½ cup cold milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon honey or sugar (optional)

Whipped cream (optional)

Directions Add the blueberries, vanilla ice cream, milk and vanilla to a blender. Blend until thick and creamy. If you want it thinner, add a splash more milk.

Farm Tip: Freeze your fresh blueberries first for an extra-thick, extra-cold milkshake no ice needed!

Try this out !!

🫐 Royal Pacific Blueberry Smoothie

A simple, creamy smoothie that really tastes like blueberries.

Ingredients:

1½ cups fresh or frozen blueberries

1 banana

1 cup milk (dairy, almond, or oat)

½ cup Greek yogurt

1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

½ cup ice, especially if using fresh blueberries

½ tsp vanilla extract — optional

Directions: Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, add a splash more milk. If you want a stronger blueberry flavour, bump it up to 2 cups of blueberries.
