Grass seeding in spring: One of our side hustles that we offer to our local community.

Kornel has worked on this custom seeding machine for a number of years, designing it just as he envisioned for precision seeding of hayfields and pasture land for foraging: A seeder that does NOT seed in rows!

It’s pretty impressive and something Kornel is quite passionate about. How and why did he get into it? Read his story!👇

“Forages: Nature has never grown anything in rows!

North American agriculture does not specialise in forage production. Most research money here goes into annual row crop technology and row crop genetics like corn and soybeans, so finding a machine that would meet my standards was impossible to find.

I was raised on a forage-based dairy farm in Switzerland and have high expectations in forage establishments and forage quality. Because there was no suitable equipment available in Canada to professionally seed a hayfield or pasture land, I looked for a European company to help me build a prototype of a machine that unites the technology available in Europe with the forage needs and land conditions of North America. I now have my custom seeder working with a span of 40ft.

Over the past 25 years I have been offering seeding services to my local community of farmers who are interested in well established forage stands.”

It’s the long weekend! 🙌🌸

We’ll be at our usual spots today the 15th & tomorrow May 17th with all our pasture-raised goodies!

Some great options for the long weekend:
🌭A variety of sausages, in chicken, pork, & beef!
🍔 Grass-fed lean ground beef for your burgers (or try them with our ancestral blend!)
🙌 Wings! (Anyone watching the game coming up?)
💖 And delightful flavours of kombucha for refreshments! 🥂

We’ll also have a good selection of beef steaks and pork offerings like bacon, breakfast sausages, and chops. We’ll have our pastured chicken of course, but can you believe that you recently cleaned us out of last season’s whole chickens**?!! Not to worry though, we still have plenty in packages of half birds, as well as  breast, drumsticks, chicken steaks, and ground.

And eggs this week?
Lots of small sized eggs by the flat! Our new flock of layers are providing a goodly amount of eggs, but as they are still young they are mostly producing smaller sized eggs. This size is seasonal and not around for too long.  As they get older, it won’t be long before you’ll see lots of medium and large sized eggs available! (Ever had a chance to try our small sized eggs? For some, they are a favourite! The shells are extra thick, and the whites when cooked tend to have an extra delicate texture. :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful long weekend!💕

P.S. **When will we have more whole chicken available? The 2026 season is well underway; our first batch of chicks have already gone out to pasture! So, it won’t be too long before we have more, as well as our first fresh chicken of the season!  Keep an eye out for an upcoming post when we announce our fresh chicken dates for the year. ✌️

For those of you interested in skincare, this one is for you.

Introducing: Ferme Rêveuse Tallow-Based Skincare!

Tallow has been getting a fair amount of attention these days, and as a natural ingredient it’s something we genuinely love for our own skin. Since we produce our own grass-fed beef and render our own tallow, Olga has long loved the idea of creating creams made with tallow produced right here on the farm.

And as fate would have it, we were very fortunate to know Laura, the amazing creator behind , who we collaborated with to bring this vision to life. We could not be happier with what she created for us! A true passion project for Olga, we are so excited to finally share these products with you.

We have 3 products available: a Tallow Balm, a Tallow Serum, and a Tallow Body Lotion. Head over to our website for a full overview of each product. Link in bio :)

It was a family affair this year to unload our new batch of layers!

Just this past Monday we welcomed them together with the whole family, and it was such fun 🥰 They’ll be out on pasture, in this mobile chicken coop for the season. 🌱🌱🌱

The sun is shining, and our first batch of broiler chicks has arrived at the farm! ☀️🐥🐥🐥 The first of eight batches for our 2026 season. It’s always one of the best times of year.

In just three weeks, they’ll be out on pasture. For now though, they’re settling into the brooder where they’re kept cozy at 32°C for their first couple of days. From there, the temperature is gradually lowered as they grow, giving them time to develop feathers, build strength, and learn to regulate their own body temperature before heading outdoors.
