Crockett is a May 9, 2025 AQHA-registered buckskin gelding who should mature around 15–15.1 hh.

This handsome young gelding is friendly, easy to handle and has a great foundation already in place:

Crockett is sired by Famous Ta Fire, a son of the legendary Fire Water Flit, and out of a Dash Ta Fame daughter. On the bottom side, his dam, BQD Neena Beduino, brings in Scrutinizer and additional speed breeding.

With Fire Water Flit, Dash Ta Fame and Scrutinizer on his papers, Crockett has an exciting combination of proven barrel and speed bloodlines. He is a good-looking, athletic prospect with the potential to go in several directions.

We are excited to officially open the 2027 breeding book for:

To celebrate the opening of his books, we are offering an early-booking special to the first seven approved mares:

⭐ $1,200 breeding fee
⭐ Chute and collection fees included
⭐ $500 non-refundable deposit applied toward the breeding fee
⭐ Limited to the first seven approved mares with a signed contract and deposit received by December 1

Once those seven spots are filled—or after December 1—Dez’s regular breeding fee will be $1,500, including the chute and collection fees.

Dez is a 2021 AQHA black stallion standing over 15.2 hands. He brings the size, bone, athletic ability, trainability and kind temperament that we value so highly in our breeding program.

Fresh-cooled semen is available, with frozen semen planned for the near future. Shipping expenses are additional. Mare approval is required.

Another day on the farm with Beau! 🐈‍⬛🌾

As soon as a bale goes into the wheelbarrow, he’s right there, ready to help with chores. He absolutely loves riding along to feed the horses—and of course, supervising every step of the way! 🤣

Life on the farm just wouldn’t be the same without Beau. ❤️

Another day in the life of Beau! 🤣

Every farm needs a good supervisor, and Beau takes his job very seriously! We raised him from a kitten, and he has grown into a cat like no other. He absolutely loves Kevin and insists on joining him for everything—including chores around the ranch.

Apparently, even moving bales requires Beau’s close supervision from the best seat in the house! 😂🐈‍⬛🌾

He certainly keeps us entertained, and we wouldn’t have him any other way. ❤️

Some horses just make the camera’s job easy. 🖤🔥

Taryn Boles at Legacy Media captured some incredible footage of Dez—MW Designed N Heaven—stretching out and showing off in the arena. His power, athleticism and presence are truly something to watch, but it’s that beautiful, kind nature of his that makes him so special to us.

We are incredibly proud of this stallion and excited for everything still to come in his performance and breeding career.

Best friends come in all shapes and sizes. 🐴🐈‍⬛❤️

Beau is truly a cat like no other. Every evening, he joins us as we walk through the pasture to check on the horses—and apparently, Keota is his favourite place to take a little rest!

Keota is a mare we raised here at Rafter H Ranch and now enjoy riding. These two have formed the sweetest friendship, and Keota doesn’t seem bothered in the least when Beau climbs right onto her back.

The horses we raise are quiet, trusting and incredibly social—to say the least! Moments like this make our nightly checks pretty special. ❤️

This is our beautiful herd of riding horses. Each one holds a very special place in our hearts and truly represents the kind of horses we strive to raise here at Rafter H Ranch Quarter Horses—beautiful, versatile, dependable and made to be enjoyed. ❤️🐴

Our blue roans trace back to our very first stallion, Reno’s Black Gambler—the horse who helped start it all for us.

Although Gambler is no longer with us, his legacy continues to live on through the generations of horses he left behind. Seeing them together is a beautiful reminder of where our breeding program began and how far we have come. 💙

A legacy we are incredibly proud to carry forward.

🚚✈️ Another successful shipment from Alberta to Halifax, Nova Scotia!

Dez was collected on June 10th and had an outstanding 90% motility at collection.

📍 Upon arrival the following morning, despite not being used until 9:00 PM that evening, his semen evaluated at:

• 87% Progressive Motility
• 9% Non-Progressive
• 4% Immotile

Then, at 48 hours post-collection:

• 75% Progressive Motility
• 15% Non-Progressive
• 10% Immotile

We are incredibly pleased with how well Dez’s semen is holding up after traveling across the country and continuing to maintain excellent progressive motility.

Tomorrow morning we’ll receive the 72-hour evaluation. What’s your guess? We’re predicting around 65% progressive motility!
