A little flashback.

Before covid happened, I was working as a cocktail bartender. The hospitality industry was shut down.

I moved back to the farm, started foraging berries, growing a garden, and started beekeeping.

When I was to younger, my grandmothers did a lot of canning.. One flavour I can remember is the smell of Cranberry in the kitchen. We always had preserved fruit over ice cream.

As a bartender, I developed a cocktail syrup. It is honey, wild fruit. It tasted so good, people wanted to buy it by the bottle.

Fast forward a couple years... I bought cases of bottles and started bottling. In the picture is a rhubarb and honey syrup, best enjoyed with soda and some gin.

Grandmothers chicken coop. It had been neglected. I needed a new floor nesting boxes. It's all back together. 20 Rhode Island Red hens. My one rooster took a immediate liking to these ladies. He's been doing a fancy dance and making goofy noises.
