Come on by the The Alberni Growers’ Collective table tomorrow, Saturday, May 25th from 9am and noon Spirit Square Farmers' Market Spirit Square Farmers' at the Market down at Harbour Quay. Everything on our table is grown naturally with love ❤️

This week we will have:

Lettuce mix
Sui Choi- big crisp heads
Spinach
Arugula
Swiss Chard
Baby red Russian kale
Lacinato (dinosaur) kale

Week 2 of the Spirit Square Farmers' Market annual plant sale starts tomorrow morning at 9:00am. Come on down to the Harbour Quay for a beautiful selection of vegetables starts, herb and flower seedlings grown with love 🌱❤️.

Hi everyone,some dear friends are seeking a ride from Port Alberni to the Departure Bay Ferry on Monday, August 14. It looks like the bus is full that day, so I’m hoping someone might be heading that way and have room to spare. They are happy to pitch in for gas costs 😊

FREE FARMERS MARKET OPPORTUNITY! The Spirit Square Farmers' Market is running an initiative this year focusing on supporting local food producers and farmers. We are offering people a free day at the Saturday market with a tent and table. Also, we will highlight them and what they are selling on social media. Have you considered selling your extra garden produce, eggs, fruit, jam, flowers......at the market? Or perhaps you have a food oriented business that you would like to introduce to the community? Tomorrow is market day and it will likely be the last week for basil. We will have Thai basil as well as Genovese available.

Thai basil is amazing in lettuce wraps, salad rolls, curries and soups. I always freeze some at the end of the growing season to have on hand for that distinctive flavour year round.

Basil pesto freezes beautifully, so if you haven’t made your pesto yet, come down and say hi and grab a bag.

We will be Spirit Square Farmers' Market at the The Alberni Growers’ Collective table from 9-noon tomorrow.
