We get in free range and grass fed meats as much as we can and also carry a few Canadian certified organic products. We’re taking Thanksgiving orders Tuesday through Saturday, so give us a call and get yours on the books!

Just a reminder: all Thanksgiving orders require a non-refundable deposit at the time of ordering.

Don’t wait until the last minute — we’d hate for you to be that person calling us on Thanksgiving morning asking if we “happen to have an extra turkey.” 😉

🧡 A quick note about September 30

We’ll be open our regular hours for Truth and Reconciliation Day.

We know this is an important day, and we absolutely recognize the significance of taking time to reflect, learn, and acknowledge the history and ongoing impact of residential schools.

For us, being a small butcher shop with fresh product, closing in the middle of the week can also mean a lot of product going to waste. So while we’ll be open, we’ll still be taking the day seriously and encouraging our team and customers to take a moment to learn and reflect.

🌭 LOCAL VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: CAPLANSKY’S DELICATESSEN 🌭

Meet Zane Caplansky, our resident “Mustard Mavin” and the maker behind the mustards on our shelves.

Zane’s story starts in Toronto, where he opened Caplansky’s Delicatessen in 2008 — mustard-making began just weeks later. What brought him to BC? His wife, a Tofino native, and the pull of starting a family here. In 2019, mustard became the full focus.

In Zane’s words: “Butcher shops were the perfect pairing for us and our mustard. Their customers are our customers. The butcher shop community is our community.”

Zane makes four mustards and loves them all differently — no favourites, each one brings a different mood!

After 10 incredible years, our beloved Cheryl is moving on to a new adventure. Cheryl has been with The Little Butcher since nearly the beginning, and her hard work, dedication and lots of laughs helped shape us into the shop we are today. We can’t thank her enough and wish her all the best in her next chapter. 💛⚾️

We’re looking for a **full-time Meat Cutter (40 hrs/week)** either an **experienced butcher** or an **apprentice butcher** ready to learn the trade.

We’re changing things up. 🥩 Starting September 7th, The Little Butcher will be closed Mondays.

🔴 CLOSED Sunday & Monday
🕙 Tuesday–Saturday: 10am–6pm

We know Monday is a favourite shopping day for some of you, and we’re genuinely sorry for the change to your routine. 💛

Here’s the honest reason: closing one more day a week, and ordering a little less meat, means we can run with a smaller team without piling extra hours or stress onto anyone. Small but mighty. It also means our crew always gets two days off in a row, and less of the beautiful meat our farmers raise ends up going to waste.

Thank you for sticking with us. Every purchase you make with us helps support over 50 independent BC businesses we’re proud to work alongside. 🙏
