In 1973, Martin Weber put blueberry plants in the ground in Norfolk County. He did the hard work, the research. The high-bush blueberry has a natural lifespan of about 25 years. These ones are past 50, still here, still producing, the oldest commercial high-bush blueberry patch in Ontario.

On Friday, July 10th, we're having dinner in the heart of it all.

Chef Tracy Winkworth will take the humble blueberry through a beautiful multi- course meal, while our Front Road Cellars wines carry you through the evening as golden hour settles over the farm.

"What do I do with a dessert wine?"

We get asked this a lot about our Iced Blueberry wine, so here's our honest answer. WHATEVER YOU WANT! But if you want some direction, here are our favourite ways to enjoy it.

Pair it with cheese. Aged cheddar, creamy blue cheese, or a tangy goat cheese all work beautifully.

Drizzle it over dessert. Vanilla ice cream. Lemon tart. A warm brownie.

Sip it on its own. Sometimes the best pairing is just a quiet evening, a small glass, and nothing else. That's the whole point of a dessert wine, it IS dessert.

Reduce it into a glaze for pork or duck. Stir it into a berry compote. Add a splash to a cocktail. There's nothing it can't do, that's the beauty of it!

Easter without the hunting around + questionable chocolate? We're in!

This year we're offering something a little different. Artisan cheeses from The Dover Cheese Shop, cured meats, fresh crudités and fruit, crackers, and yes — a deviled egg — all tucked festively into an egg carton like the world's most delicious surprise. Add a glass of Front Road Cellars' wine (or a mocktail if that's more your speed) and enjoy it on our sunny back lawn or in our cozy café.

We're even including a well-deserved sweet treat from Le Chocolat du Savoie to take home, because every good Easter needs a some chocolate that's actually worth eating. Skip the candy aisle this year, trust us this will be much more delicious!
