Did you know squirrels love mushrooms? They even intentionally harvest and dry them for future use.
I was lucky enough to find this while on a trip this week.
So cool to see how they even carved it out so it would balance nicely on this branch about 4 feet off the ground.
Not totally sure about the mushroom species but I would guess a type of bolete?
If you can identify better then let me know!

We are bringing our whole line up of mushrooms to the Powell River Farmers' Market today from 12:30-2:30 with our scale out so you can choose as much or little as you want!

Want to make a 5 mushroom soup or risotto? We got you covered.

Our line up today includes Lion’s Mane, King Oyster, Black Oyster, Elm Oyster, and Blue Ouster.

What happens after the mushrooms are harvested?

Our spent substrate blocks don’t go to waste, they go right into the soil that grows you more local produce.

These blocks are packed with organic matter and nutrients that plants love. When added to gardens or fields, they help improve soil structure, increase water retention, and slowly release nutrients over time.

As we grow our little mushroom farm and connect with the community we find opportunities like this to focus on our values to support local food resiliency with a cyclical mindset.

That being said, we just dropped some Lions Mane .nostra.farm so stop by and pick up some locally grown produce!
