Home sweet home 🐴🤍

Last night we brought the mares home and I can’t even explain how happy it makes me to finally have our small little herd all back together again.

This time last year looked a whole lot different… at one point we were up to 11 horses (including the two foals). While we loved every single one, we realized our horses and breeding program were starting to consume so much of our lives that we weren’t leaving ourselves room for much else.

Making the decision to downsize was not easy. There were lots of emotions and second guessing along the way. But looking back now, we can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we’ve made.

We are so happy with our little herd and the direction we’re heading. It has allowed us to slow down, enjoy them more, and focus our breeding program on what matters most to us — quality over quantity.

For now, our hearts (and barn) feel full 🩷

Breeding update on Navy 🐴🩷

Navy was bred May 25th and everything went perfect. She was checked Monday at day 14 and did not find anything. The plan was to check her again today and to our pleasant surprise we found what we were looking for! I guess the little embryo was just a little shy and didn’t want to make an appearance on Monday.

We have been trying for three years to get a foal off of Hubba Hubba Huntin, so fingers crossed and lots of prayers that everything is still good at heartbeat check ❤️
