Can we start an egg thread please?
I'm overrun with eggs right now and I'm getting bored of the usual (fried & devilled).

What are your favorite ways to eat eggs?
Do you have a creative recipe that uses lots of eggs?

I'd love some new fresh ideas or tried and true recipes.

(If anyone in the PA area needs eggs, let me know)

"Traceability" is a buzz word in agriculture today and it's something that can trigger defensiveness among producers.

We believe that all farmers and ranchers keep great records enabling the trace of a commodity. But it gets muddy when there are so many middle men involved.

On our farm it's simple....you buy the meat from ONE animal that has lived in ONE place its whole life.
There's no sale barn, no feedlot, no packing plant, no distribution center and no grocery store. They are born here and they die here, so traceability is easy when you buy our beef....it's quite literally "field to fork".

Non-meat post incoming....
If you follow our page, you probably value quality food and healthy living so I thought I'd share one of my feel-good juice recipes with you (see comments).

I go heavy on the veggies and light on fruit to keep the sugar content low, yet it's still sweet enough that my kids drank this stuff when they were toddlers. 1 apple or a couple pieces of pineapple is all I add to whatever veggies I have on hand. (Watermelon and oranges are really good options as well).
Run it through the juicer and chill.

I always feel really healthy drinking this stuff and its a great way to use up the abundance of garden veggies this time of year. πŸ’ͺ

I was pleased to be invited to "Researchers on the Ranch" this week, an event put on by the Saskatchewan Cattle Association intended to connect data analysts, university professors and veterinarians with producers to learn about the real-life challenges of raising cattle in this area.

Ranching in the northern part of the province is different than down south, so I am thrilled that the SCA chose our quadrant for these studies, and was happy to share my perspectives as a Wagyu breeder and to represent the organic sector.

There is such value in connecting people from different parts of our industry, especially out on a field tour. When the boots are "on the ground" and they can actually see the challenges first hand (bugs, predators, weeds, terrain, water sources etc) it brings life to the data and this helps all of us in the industry.

Thank you SCA for having me!

August 3rd is Saskatchewan Day, and we're proud to live, work and play in this province.

Like a prairie quilt, SK is made up of
fall suppers, bunny hugs, curling bonspiels, northern lights, pike fishing derbies, Call for Country on AM radio, and a Co-op store in every town.

With more miles of gravel than pavement, every vehicle you meet will give you the signature 2-finger wave, and at the end of every visit with a Sasky they will try sending you home with a jar of homemade jelly, a coil of deer sausage, some grid road driving directions and maybe even a recipe.

You won't find any mountains, an Ikea, or much rural cell service here, but the sense of community and good people is what really makes up this province we call home....and Platinum Organic Beef Co is SO proud to operate here!

We finally joined the rest of the world by buying a smoker and we cooked our first wagyu brisket ever! (I know right) πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

It was AMAZING and now we're hooked. So to all the pro's out there - please share your tips and tricks, best recipes and rubs. We would love to learn more.
