So excited to have these little fellas all settled.
After the Christmas Day fire, we are left with a low supply of chicken, so their arrival brings the usual excitement of spring approaching AND the thought of summer BBQs!

We have officially signed a lease for our new temporary location at 614 North River Road (the former Sporting Intentions building).

Parking available on-site, Action Auto and Creative Child Care Centre
👉 We’ll have signage and helpers to guide you.

This will be grab-and-go only for now

🚫 No on-site eating yet, as seating isn’t set up

We are down but not out!

Charlottetown Farmers Market - Fire 2025-12-25

We have a sad update that early December 25, 2025 there was a fire at the Charlottetown Farmers Market
At the moment the fire is out, and there was no injury or loss of life as the market was unoccupied.

The fire marshall will be doing an investigation on Friday to determine the cause of the fire.
There was significant damage to a portion of the exterior of the building, as well as smoke damage and the power has been shut off, and we have been in touch with our insurance company and the building will be closed, and the water drained.

At this time it looks like the Charlottetown Farmers Market will be closed for the foreseeable future, but please check our social media for more information as we process through this tragedy.

Thank you for all the emergency services personnel that responded, especially on Christmas day!

Travis Cummiskey of Glen Lake Pasture Farm produces beef, pork, and poultry, and with help from the Future Farmer Program, he’s been able to maximize his land’s potential to meet the needs of his animals.

Through the program, Travis installed a water supply and electric fencing in his hay fields. These upgrades gave him the ability to stockpile forage: harvesting the first flush of spring growth as dry hay and haylage, then returning cattle to graze the regrowth later in the season. Instead of sitting idle after the first cut, those fields now provide extra feed, reducing the farm’s reliance on costly baled forage once perennial pastures are grazed.

"The Future Farmer program was quite helpful in my first few years farming. From business planning to funding our first attempts at extended season grazing and rotational management, I got a lot out of the program and would definitely recommend it to another new entrant."
