I've been going through the seedling patch, removing any flowers that don't make the cut. We're at that weird time of year where I'm still waiting for some to bloom, but also not deadheading bc I want to save more seed. It's a bit of a beautiful wild mess😆

One last look at the dahlia seedling patch before some get chucked! Why would I do that? When breeding dahlias, I have some set criteria for what I'm looking for. Most plants don't actually make the cut🤷🏻‍♀️ It's a process, but trust me, some dahlias are actually ugly🤣
