Back in the late 1800’s a Chinese entrepreneur came to the Similkameen Valley in search of his fortune. He called himself “Frenchy” as he believed nobody would dare jump a french-man’s claim! As a prospector he made little but he turned his attention to feeding the local gold-rush communities and there he made his fortune!
Today Princeton and area has a similar problem to the 1800’s, poor quality produce, little variety and monopolies on food supply by the major companies of the day. Frenchy’s Farm Fresh aims to work cooperatively with local producers of food and products, to provide local, quality fares to the local population.
I was raised in Liverpool, England and moved to Princeton at the age of 15 almost 35 years ago. Since then I have worked where I needed to but have had Princeton as my home (mainly and always in my heart.) Good food and fresh food has always been a passion of mine and post Princeton Secondary School I became a French trained chef and worked in the hospitality business for a number of years before moving on into broader management areas. A green-thumb or two are in the family and I was raised from the background of the “Victory Garden” mentality of WWII.
I believe local producers can work cooperatively to provide fresh, high quality, healthy, energy dense foods to the locals area residents of Princeton. I believe we can grow, source, aggregate and provide products to our residents that exceed the quality and freshness of anything available in the grocery store. To do this we need you! We need you to support a local food to doorstep business.
