One last inspection-related post… after the foals and the mares, it’s time to shine a little light on the people behind it all. ❤️
A special shoutout to my precious friend Kassy.
We’ve known each other for almost 20 years now (which sounds a little crazy when you actually say it out loud 😅), and when I asked if she could come help as a second handler for our Westfalen inspection, she didn’t hesitate for a second. She simply offered to spend the entire weekend with us.
And she did so much more than handle horses.
She helped prepare the barn, get the horses ready, keep track of all the little details, and even remind me when it was time for my ultrasounds while we were in the middle of a breeding cycle. And after the inspection, she stayed to help put everything back together.
Two days, both well over 12 hours, and a whole lot of work in between.
We had so much help throughout that weekend, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed. But I wanted to give Kassy a special shoutout for the time, energy and care she gave us.
Kassandra also has a real gift with animals. She has a way of making them feel safe and calm very quickly, and she’s often the first to find that little “soft spot” in each one. She’s also incredibly thorough and detail-oriented... nothing escapes her, and she takes pride in doing things properly.
It’s exactly the same care and attention she brings to her own business, Kassandra Lavoie - Parle à ma patte, where she works her magic grooming dogs. Needless to say, she is someone I recommend wholeheartedly. 🐾
Thank you, Kassy, for showing up, jumping in wherever you were needed, calm my mind and making a very intense weekend so much easier. I’m very lucky to have you. ❤️
