Fundraiser Update:

On Tuesday we ran a fundraiser for the B.C. Cattlemans Association Range Rider Project.

This group of skilled horsemen and women haul their horses to ranches that are being evacuated from wildfires. With cattle being scared and wary the safest way to move large herds is on horseback, through crown land and neighbouring ranches. The Range Riders shelter, feed and water the herds until it is safe to bring them back to their ranch. This is a true example of how farming communities stick together and often form their own protocols to protect their livelihoods.

In one short day we raised over $300! This will help with hay and water hauling, provisions for the riders and horses etc.

Fundraiser today!!!!

Happy Tuesday - The farm stand is open today and we will be running our first summer fundraiser.

All proceeds will be directed to the B.C. Cattleman’s Range Rider program.

“This BCCA program helps ranchers round up/gather animals on rangeland affected by wildfire. Riders return livestock to their home ranch sites or to alternative sheltering locations as well as manage animals relocated to unfamiliar range tenures or other safe locations.”

We were fortunate to shelter animals here on Hudson Creek Farm during the Wesley Ridge Fire last year and would like to support the men and women riding into the fray to help ranchers and livestock.
