Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the memory of the Indigenous children who were taken from their families, those who never returned home, the Survivors, the families and communities who continue to be affected by the lasting impacts of the residential school system.
This day serves as a reminder to continue learning, listening, and reflecting on the legacy, ongoing impacts, and the path forward toward reconciliation.
We take this opportunity to reaffirm our ongoing commitments through Our Promise to Indigenous Peoples, which guides how we build respectful relationships, serve communities in the north, and advance reconciliation every day. đ§Ą
