We took out a number of cedars but these 2 at the front door really opened the entryway and I can actually see a lot more of the property from the kitchen window now. It also exposed the terrible shape our deck is in (we knew this when we bought the house).

I’m not sure what to do in those garden beds to fill the space and frame our entry with those stumps in the way.

My mom is internet shaming me because I pushed my way under the fence and went for a swim in the septic lagoon. Right up to my ears! Mom always tells me and my brother to make good choices and she said this was not a good choice. I don’t know what the problem was because I was having fun, until she started to spray me with freezing cold water and she said I stunk.

The chickens got a new, outdoor run today. They seem to be enjoying scratching and peck at the ground. When it’s raining, snowing, or whenever they choose, they can go in their other run.

Puddle or pond? What constitutes one or the other?

The kids were playing outside yesterday and when they came in, told us there was now a pond at the top of our property, since the snow has melted. The hubs and I rode up there today to check it. Turns out, they weren’t exaggerating, like I thought they were! It’s over a foot deep!

When you go out to do morning chores and find your son’s favourite chicken lethargic and with a poopy bum (she was recently broody), you drop everything else you had planned to do, including a cup of coffee, so you can bathe the chicken and hopefully nurse her back to health.

She tried to jump out of the tub (so she isn’t too lethargic 😆) and then decided to relax and enjoy her spa treatment.
