THANK YOU!
You Made Our First Year in Business AMAZING!
Dear Community,
When I set out to launch Cranberry Hollow Equestrian just over a year ago, I was full of doubt. Would a farm and riding program in "the middle of nowhere" be successful? Would there be enough interest in our programs to cover the cost of insurance, equipment, and operational expenses, as well as feeding, maintenance, and veterinary care for the lesson horses?
Or would I be sinking all of my time, money, hopes, and dreams into something that wouldn't take off?
Despite my doubts, I went for it, and the Rainy River District has blown me away with enthusiasm, support, and kindness.
Throughout 2024, we welcomed 68 children to our farm, as well as a handful of adult riders, far surpassing my hopes for our first year of operation. We had so much fun introducing you to our horses, cows, chickens, and geese.
It has been our sincere joy to share this farm that we love so dearly with all of you.
Our first year in business was not without its challenges, though that's what farm life is all about - there are always going to be things that pop up - and we greatly appreciate the understanding, kindness, and support shown as we addressed these things.
Although we've been involved with horses and the "equestrian world" for quite a long time, launching our own program came with a steep learning curve, and we sure did learn a LOT! We have taken all of the lessons learned and have integrated them as we start to dream about 2025.
There is a lot of planning underway for our next riding season, and we are excited to share another year in the saddle with you!
As soon as the ground thaws, we will be building a large outdoor arena and obstacle course to allow our students to take their riding to the next level.
We are also eagerly anticipating the completion of our barn renovations and can't wait to give you all a tour of the new barn and tack room!
Most importantly, we have some fun new programs in the works and will be shifting to a new structure for riding lessons - stay tuned for the details!
As we wrap up our 2024 season, I would like to extend my thanks and deep gratitude to my husband, Brian, and my mother, Valerie, for supporting my crazy dreams.
I'd also like to thank my children, Lynden, Raina, Robin, Gaia, and Corbin, for putting boots to the ground and helping with new fencing, round pen construction, horse care, p**p cleanup, and also for assisting so many new riders during their lessons. They have been incredible helpers this past year and I couldn't have done any of this without them. Our business truly is a family-run business in every sense of the word.
Thanks and gratitude also go out to our amazing helper, Rain, who did a wonderful job assisting new riders in their lessons, exercising horses, helping with farm chores, and training our little filly. Rain has been a huge blessing to us, and we are also grateful to her parents for driving her out to the farm every weekend.
Last, but certainly not least, thank YOU, each and every one of you who came out to the farm this year. Without you, none of this would be what it is. It has been our honour to provide farm and equestrian experiences and we hope that you have enjoyed your time with us.
We can't wait for 2025 and all of the new opportunities ahead! See you in the spring!
