We had a GREAT time at Smoke Wind & Fire BBQ Competition last weekend! (Yes, it has taken us this time to recover to finally let you know how we did). We entered the competition with the goal of improving our scores from last year, and that we did! We are proud of the work and growth of our team over the last year, and we are proud of our entry. We placed 5th overall in the Backyard division.
The event this year was by far a much better experience than last as well. The other teams were so welcoming and often shared tips and tricks.
Town of Raymond put on one heck of an event - a market, food trucks, moving in park - yep, Top Gun Maverick! - and a car show.
Hickory Street did an amazing job organizing the event, and we were lucky enough to volunteer along side them for the event.
Thank you to Warwick Printing for our amazing stickers! Thank you to Expressive Design INK for our team shirts!
Thank you to all our friends who visited us on the afternoon after our competition was over. It was great to celebrate with you!
Gregg and I discussed our future goals with Competition BBQ. We will aim to partake in 2 or 3 comps next year. We got some great feedback on our entries this year, and we look forward to practicing more. Don’t be surprised if you find packages of ribs and chicken show up randomly on your doorstep over the next 10 months!
Thanks everyone for your support! DM us if you are interested in BBQ from us, or would like to support our team.
