T H A N K Y O U || We have no words to express the generosity of this community. When we thought up this idea for Lemons for Liz, never did we imagine all of this.

But we shouldn't be surprised. Liz touched the lives of so many people. She was a source of light for many others during their darkest times and that kindness has rippled across our community since she passed.

The Girl Who Let Them Eat Cake Bakery and Lavender + Honey Tart Shoppe were able to raise $5,000 for Liz's family and it's all because of YOU! The outpouring of support for our bake sale, the generous donations, and an incredible bid at our auction - all of it was because of YOU. The likes, the shares, the comments, the offers to help. This community showed up in a big way and helped us surpass any goals we had in mind.

We thank all of you. While we will be heading back into tart retirement, we are so grateful we got to share them with you for another holiday this year and in honour of such a special woman.

T H A N K F U L || We just wanted to post a quick thank you to everyone for all the love and patience this weekend. We pulled off an incredible sale for Liz's family and it was all because of you.

We hope you enjoyed all of your Lemon Meringue tarts and/or Lemon Sugar Cookies. And if you knew Liz, we hope you took a moment to think of her while you savoured a bite of one of her favourite treats.

It was a bittersweet bake for us this week. We have always loved being the sweetest part of your holiday meals. We just wish Liz could have been here too ❤️

Welcome to the Lemons for Liz Auction! We have teamed up with Erin from The Girl Who Let Them Eat Cake Bakery to fundraise for the family of our dear friend Liz of Pickle & Bee Natural Products. We have two items from our Lemons for Liz Bake Sale up for auction:

🍋One dozen stunning Lemon Sugar Cookies
🍋One classic 11" Lemon Meringue Tart

Bidding begins on Friday, September 30th at 6PM and closes on Sunday, October 2nd at 6PM.

Items will be available for pickup on Saturday, October 8th between 11AM and 2PM.

Bids are placed in the comments section under the photo of the item you wish to bid on.

Liz was in treatment for Stage 4 Breast Cancer when she sadly passed away on Monday, September 19th. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Senft Family to assist with any medical bills.

L E M O N S F O R L I Z : P A R T 2 // It is safe to say Monday night's sale was a huge success. We were absolutely blown away by the number of people who showed up in support of Liz and her family.

But we're not finished yet! This weekend we will be auctioning off one 11" Lemon Meringue tart and one dozen Lemon Sugar Cookies for pick up on October 8th. The auction will take place here, on the Lavender + Honey Tart Shoppe page. Bidding will begin on Friday, September 30th at 6PM and close on Sunday, October 2nd at 6PM.

If you missed out on grabbing some lemon delights, this weekend you can place your bid for one last chance. All proceeds will go to Liz's family to assist with medical bills.

Thank you again to everyone who has purchased treats, made donations, or supported any other event in Liz's name so far. Your messages, kind words of encouragement, and generosity are very much appreciated!

🍋 The store will not hold items in your cart, so unfortunately it's first come, first checked out. To speed this up, you are able to create an account with all your details so you can just login *this feature is currently down, Wix has been trying to resolve it all day*

🍋 This is a pre-order for pickup on Saturday, October 8th. There will be two options for pickups: South (at Lavender + Honey Tart Shoppe) or East (at The Girl Who Let Them Eat Cake Bakery).

🍋 Pickups will run from 11AM to 2PM. We will email you to choose a pickup slot to help streamline the day.

We just want to take a moment to thank everyone for all the shares, messages, and donations already. We can feel all the love this community had for Liz spilling over to us and this fundraiser. We appreciate each and every one of you ❤️

L E M O N S F O R L I Z 🍋 || Liz from Pickle & Bee Natural Products was so many things to so many people. She was a source of support for us, patiently answering our questions and easing our new-parent anxiety. She was a supporter of our business and a big fan of our Lemon Meringue tarts.

When we found out Liz's breast cancer had returned to her liver and bones, we had planned to bake her a lemon tart. Like so many others, we assumed we had more time. The news of her passing on Monday, September 19th was heartbreaking.

So we're teaming up with Erin of The Girl Who Let Them Eat Cake to bring you Lemons for Liz. We will be offering Lemon Meringue tarts + Lemon Sugar Cookies for pick up on Saturday, October 8th with all proceeds going to her husband and children so they can focus on grieving without the added stress of medical bills.

There are so many people who will miss her sense of humour, her generosity, and her caring nature. She took one of the sh*ttiest diagnoses and turned it into not only an amazing line of natural products, but also an opportunity to support other women and caregivers experiencing the same.

Lemons for Liz will open for orders on Monday, September 26th at 8PM. Both tarts and cookies will be available on the website until sold out. Let's turn these sour lemons into something sweet for her family 🍋

C H O C O L A T E R A S P B E R R Y || This is it. Our final tart offering for you. Chocolate shortbread filled with our small-batch raspberry preserves, dreamy Belgian milk chocolate cremeux, and topped with fresh raspberries. Available today at Takeaway Gourmet.

We just want to take a moment to thank the cheese queen herself, Aleana Young. When we dropped off tarts at her shop almost two years ago, we had no idea what would happen.

We've been selling our tarts there almost every Saturday for the past year and a half and it's all because of her. She is a champion of small businesses like ours and we're so grateful for the chance she took on us that day.

Get the last tarts while you can! We're going to miss baking for you guys 💛

H A P P Y H O L I D A Y S || We have been baking since the first week of December and just finished up this morning. We are so grateful we got to spend our last Christmas as a business with each of you.

To everyone who has placed orders, shopped at Takeaway Gourmet, and shared tarts with friends: thank you. From the bottom if our hearts ❤ It has meant the world to us to have been a part of so many celebrations and festivities.

We have family visiting for our first Christmas all together in over a decade, so we are signing off for the weekend to soak it all in. But we do have one last tart up our sleeve to help you ring in the new year. Details to come next week.

C R A N B E R R Y S P I C E || A Christmas favourite. Warm gingersnap spiced shortbread filled with white chocolate mousse, topped with a citrus-kissed brown sugar cranberry compôte, sugared cranberries, and candied orange peel.

We have one 8" Cranberry Spice tart left on the website for pick up or delivery on Thursday, December 23rd. If you're still looking for the perfect end to your holiday feast, we highly recommend this one.

R U M + E G G N O G || They're back for one day only: today(!!) (Saturday) at Takeaway Gourmet! Gingerbread inspired shortbread filled with eggnog mousse and a delicious rum butter caramel centre.

One week of holiday tarts left and there's still a handful of items available for pick up or delivery on our website for next Thursday, December 23rd, including one of our coveted Assorted Holiday Boxes. Who is going to give it a home?

This Saturday is Rum + Eggnog tartlets at Takeaway Gourmet. There's one pair left on our website if you wanted to reserve yours, otherwise there will be a few extra down at the shop on Saturday if you want to stop by.
