I want to speak openly with all my wonderful customers

I created the Birthday Drink perk to thank the loyal customers who support us week in and week out. Unfortunately, widespread misuse of the offer has turned a well-intentioned gift into a challenging situation for our business and our staff. To eliminate this, i made post about ID verification is required awhile back. Then, some of you got upset because you were turned away due to no ID, and felt like we offered bad customer service. This is just unfair remark to my staff.

Because of this, I have made the tough decision to discontinue the Birthday Drink program effective June 30th.

For the remainder of June, we will still honor birthdays only if you present a valid photo ID that matches the birthdate in our system. No exceptions. My staff are strictly following the rules I put in place, and I will always support them in doing their jobs.

I know many of our true regulars genuinely enjoyed this offer, and I am incredibly grateful for your years of loyal support. I'm very sorry.

I hope to continue receiving your support.

Have you seen all the sell ads for non-franchise and franchise businesses lately?

Too many. That's concerning and disheartening to see.

One ugly truth is that everything is so costly lately. And it costs a lot for small businesses too.

We don't want to up charge our items/service. However, we can't survive if we don't when everything goes up.

Besides the hourly wages, there's vacation pay, stat pay, EI pay, CPP contribution, and WCB. Besides the ingredients' cost rise significantly, there's shipping cost also rises. Many overhead costs that one doesn't realize they exist until you operate a business.

So if you can, please support your SMALL local businesses. You're not just supporting the economy, you are helping someone go through school; you're helping someone with their rent; you're helping High-schoolers gain experience. Your money doesn't go to big guys' account. It stays here.
