National Day for Truth and Reconciliation acknowledges the historical injustice of residential schools and their ongoing impact on Indigenous peoples across Canada. This statutory holiday aligns with Orange Shirt Day, which officially began in 2013 and was chosen to coincide with the time of year which children were taken from their homes and forced into residential schools.
Our Nature’s Path Organic & Que Pasa team members will be observing National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and we will be matching all team member donations made to Orange Shirt Society, Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS), RAVEN and Full Circle: First Nations Performance.
We are also engaging in the third year of a meaningful partnership for Indigenous Inclusion with Indigenous Works as an Employer Partner to provide our team members with learning opportunities. We commit to implementing Indigenous Inclusion principles and workplace inclusion strategies and practices across Nature’s Path Organic and Que Pasa .
