Area 3 Summerama Quarter Horse show was a great time with a supportive group of ladies and successful show for the two little chestnut mares !!
Hope (Hickory HollynDiamond) hauled along for her second show ever and rode around like a champ!
Gracie (Heart of a Hickory) came back into the ring with a lot more confidence than her first show back and had good placings. 1st,2nd in ranch rail, 4,4,5,6th in ranch trail, 4th and 6th in ranch riding 🤠

CELEBRATE YOUR OWN WINS.

It’s important to run your own race, ride your own class, lope your own warm up and celebrate your own wins. Whether there are 60 or 600 entries, everyone wants to win, but ultimately, everyone has to show up to even be one step closer to winning.

And winning doesn’t look the same for everyone and that is OKAY.

Some days winning is that your horse is sound after months of time off.
Some days winning is that your sick horse perked up and whinnied at you when you walked in the barn.
Some days winning is that you drove yourself to the horse show.
Some days winning is that your horse walked into warm up.
Some days winning is that you left three barrels standing or didn’t go off course.

Rarely ever is “winning” actually WINNING and a lot of wins happen outside of the arena.

Celebrate all of those wins because you worked your tail off and you earned them!

When you treat and rehab a horse for a year and you finally get to haul them to a show, that’s a win, an hard-earned one.

When you finally hit one lead change out of four, that’s a win.

When you make it through the trail course without a DQ, that’s a win.

When your ulcer prone, anxiety ridden SELF, keeps lunch down at the show, that’s a win.

Don’t compare your win to the person who took home the blue ribbon, because you never know, that may be just what they needed to not sell out on their dreams. Congratulate them after you congratulate yourself.

It is so easy to get caught up in the idea of “winning” that we lose sight of our own goals, how far we have come, what we have conquered, and the wins that we let slip by us because they weren’t a declared WIN on paper.

Easier said than done, I know. So in case you haven’t heard it or in case you haven’t told yourself lately,
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN!!! ❤️

In other news, we made the tough decision to sell Delta this summer to a great family that’s been wishing for a horse like her for a while . They had been coming to ride her for over a year and now she’s at their place soaking up all the attention ♥️ 🤠 ♥️ she’s definitely one of those ones it’s hard to see go yet you know she’ll make others so happy!

Well we did it!! Gracie and I took on 🇺🇸 Congress 2024 🇺🇸 showing in Ranch Trail and Ranch Riding 🤠 ! Gracie did amazing for her first time out at a huge event and soaked in all the surroundings and bright lights. The coliseum was a lot to take on but She got better with every run. Such a great experience for both of us! We are super thankful to our pit crew that came along Irene Collins , harris and all the support we receive from back home as well!! Thankyou to Jodi Mallette for all of your guidance throughout the year and pushing me towards a big goal!

🤠 Gracie brought home the high point open all breed at the September OPHC show !!

A little late posting but Two more great shows under our belts in one week! Gracie and I took on the ranch classes at the J&J Reining Steel City Slide and OQHA Summer finale . She brought home a nice cheque from her placings at J&J and ended up reserve high point open horse at her first Quarter Horse show !! So proud of this little mare and Grateful to all the people behind the scenes helping me get back in the show pen 💜 🤠 on to the next this coming weekend!

Another great show for Gracie at Midwest Horsemans Society-Reach! We went Saturday and came home with 1st in Ranch Riding , 1st in Ranch trail and 4th in Ranch Rail! Such a great group of people at these shows and awesome turnout for all classes!
