Tangle Rock Farm is a one-woman operation. I had run a home based business in North Vancouver growing and selling certified organic seedlings and produce. For a number of reasons, a couple of years ago I decided it was time to try my hand at farming.

Farming is hard work. Regardless of what kind of farming you do, the hours are long and the work is physical. When you start from uncleared land and poor soil - “hard work” doesn’t really cover it.

It’s been a learning process too. I’ve learned things that I never would have thought I needed to know. Fifty-three cute little two-day old chicks all tucked into a 2’ x 2’ cardboard box will outgrow the box in about a day, the kiddie pool in about a week, the room within 2 weeks and by the time they’re ready to go outside (which is about 5 weeks after YOU’RE ready for them to go outside), your entire house smells like chickens and you’ll be scraping chicken p**p from places you could have sworn they never even saw.

Another thing I’m learning is that there are only so many things a person can do in a day. I’m getting better at relaxing about the things that don’t get done. My farmstand still isn’t build. It will be. I’m not sure when, but I still have things available for purchase. I’ll try to get a fresh sheet out every week. You can message, text or phone me to order.
