That last line is gold, and oh so true!
Loneliness is the epidemic taking this world by storm these days...this just being an observation made by a simple day rider, who spends all their time with horses, cows and dogs.
People out there wishing they could meet the love of their life. They airbrush their profile pictures, primp their selfies, tease their hair with product and the camera with their eyes, creating an image that invites what they want but doesn't reveal who they are. It doesn't pay any homage to time spent shoring up the holes in their soul, building the foundation of character, integrity and loyalty that leads them to being as worthy on the inside as they are on the outside, of the great and everlasting love they search for.
These days it is all about epic moments, grand announcements, Romeo and Juliet committments...but in real life? Love is about learning to roll with change. It's about being quiet when you want to cuss or cry. It's about sharing a cup of coffee and making sure your partner gets the last sip.
It's curbing your tongue...(that's a tough one.)
It's sharing wishes, but not making too big a deal about them, because you're both old enough to realize that wishes are just the heart's honey-do list with no real substance. Romance is heat without staying power.
If folks stopped looking for the love of their lives, and simply tried loving their lives, I think it would fix a lot of s**t in this world. 🤷
Just my opinion, of course.
Have a good day folks. 😊
