Maintaining our current supply management marketing strategy is vitally important to rural Canada’s economy. I personally believe the current quota system is a key pillar of keeping food sovereignty for Canadians as well as distributing income to smaller rural areas through maintenance of several small businesses that service dairy, egg, chicken and turkey farmers.
Let’s keep agricultural income distributed amongst the many rather than consolidating it into the hands of a few corporations. Supporting our current supply management marketing system will help protect rural Canadians liveable wages as well as providing protection of our own food production for Canada.

Growing pains!

The cows 🐄 or more likely A cow (yet to be identified🤨) pulled the hose off the water trough and flooded our pack.

Tobler transport to the rescue! Within 24 hrs and earlier than promised Marty and the team saved my pack and the cows from living in the self-made swamp. (Nightmares of mastitis haunted me all night.) I cannot thank him enough!.

Plus of course my family who got the worst of it out last night and even gave up some expensive horse shavings to get us through.

5 years ago we started milking cows after purchasing a client’s herd as an ongoing operation.
5 years later (to the day: April 1 2026) we milked the first cow in our new dairy barn on our own farm!
Lots of challenges along the way but we did it!
