In 2009 we took a chance and decided Carl would become a hoof trimmer, what an adventure it has been. He got in touch with Hugh Love at Preston, Idaho and off we went to Idaho, where he did a trimming course for a week. We decided to purchase an Appleton chute. In April he went to Shelby, Montana and picked it up and by May had his first customer.
What a ride it has been since then, what he thought was going to be a part time gig became a full time and more career.
We have been North to Cleardale, Alberta
To south near DelBonita, Alberta to East near Provost, Alberta to west near Edson, Alberta. And everywhere in between.
We have met some really nice people along the way. Some are now friends.
As this chapter closes, we will continue to operate our farm and spend time with our kids and grandchildren.
